WHY DO YOU PERSIST IN HOLDING OPENS AT ASKERN IT IS BY FAR THE WORST GREYHOUND TRACK I EVER RACED A DOG ON :angry: WHAT IS WRONG WITH EASINGTON (JUST MY OPINION) :angry:
 
JOHN THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH EASINGTON,BUT WE TRY TO KEEP THE BEND OPENS AS CENTRAL AS POSSIBLE. THE LAST TIME THE N.W.R.F. HAD AN OPEN AT EASINGTON LESS THAN 30 DOGS TURNED UP WHICH WOULD NOT HELP TO COVER THE TOTAL COST FOR THE EVENT . BUT THEN AGAIN JOHN THE

PRESENT COMMITTEE ( LOL ) ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVE VENUES.

P.S. WELL JOHN I MUST GO NOW AS DONNA HAS BANNED ME FROM USING HER

P.C. WITHOUT EVEN GIVING ME A WRITTEN WARNING (LOL), I,M GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AS WELL.(PROBAILEY CALL A MEETING (LOL) : :c
 
:( well reading this i think my two pups will be kept as pets or perhaps the local tracks and slowly end our racing days :(
 
steve [fluke] i see that the feds are holding there champs at askern but reading your report of askern results posted the 22.12.03 i got the impresion that wh ippets where not welcome at askern anymore or was that a dig over the prize money if soim sorry i misread your report and hope to see youand everybody in the new season have a happy new year and dont drink to much[everybody]
 
Jeff-We were told at the last meeting at Askern by the organisers Bert and co. that a man called Ziggy was now in charge and someone had left -(who they had previously arranged the meeting with.)

As I reported- there was an awkwardness at the Open, we could not go in the stadium until after 12pm- when the weigh in was advertised at 11am prompt so the weigh in was done in the car park, there was an apparent misunderstanding about which lure had been ordered for use etc and yes the £200 added prize money withdrawn (not that we personally were bothered about prize money)

It was a shame for the organisers though as it appeared out of their control.

I don't know if Askern officially said they don't want whippets there anymore but thats what was said around the track. and it certainly appeared so as I reported after the meeting.

P.S We like Askern stadium, Easington, Highgate, Warwick, Ayr, West Houghton, Kinsley and Whitwood. Not in that order but they all offer/ed something different and bit of variety.

i would have to agree with u about the bend tracks but people tend to forget 2 of the best bend tracks in the country are in the north . only thing is most people as u will no will not travel to them .u can tell by the last attendance at these opens there where only 4 people travelled everyone else was local .the tracks r ayr and thornton who both offer fine tracks ,facilities and make u very welcome . so come on people don,t forget scotland they have other opens as well as the derby .

Apart from both fed champs which open last year had the most entries?

i have never know the fed not to spread there opens about the country, until the last few years ...not many members chase fed points now
 
KINSLEY BEST BEND VENUE,WONDER WHY ITS NO LONGER AVAILABLE :(
 
i will tell you neil...its because kinsley wanted some more money .i think about 100 quid but i am not sure.but steve williams knows the score....but to me it would have being worth it. THE BEST BEND VENUE . pitty the fed didnt think the same way.and try to work something out.
 
Surely way more than £100 would be taken in gate money?
 
I dont think £100 to much to run a well organised championship event ...yes i would think that there would have been more than a £100 took at the gate...

how comes the SUMMER CLASSIC 12TH JUNE(SAT) ASHFORDBY

has been moved from devon for 2004 as its always been run there as far back as i can remember ..this is now going to spoil the devon 10 day events
 
if the stadium wanted more money why not put it to members to increase gate money....i wouldnt mind if i had to pay more money to get into kinsley afterall the facilities and track are excellent
 
yes i agree michelle ..the members should have all right on the way our sports run ...
 
I heard that we lost kingleys because the last fed open the gate money handed in was short ..and that was the reason ..maybe a phone call to the stadium might be a good idea ...
 
It's a good venue at kingsley, good dinners ............ :D
