A lot of accomplishments on Day 2.

The boy finally has a name - Miles "Mr. Wonderful" The Ridgeback.
(Reaching an agreement on something as important as the dog's name gives me hope that we'll soon have Brexit sorted out, and US government fully functioning and paying federal employees).

Vet visit went very well. 15.9 lbs, no issues.

Initial meet and greet between the dog and the cat as expected.
Miles-The-Dog was excited to make a friend.
Lolly-The-Cat was annoyed by the inappropriate, childish puppy behavior. She tolerated the encounter, but clearly has no plans to expand this relationship. Oh, well... maybe she will come around with time.

And a few more achievements, which I am sure Miles is quite proud of:
- Figuring a way to open the free standing barrier and get out of his restricted area (to the bigger world, where SHOES and SLIPPERS can be found, if one looks hard enough)
- Figuring a way to climb up on the sofa and get off. This means we now have to keep cushions on the floor by the sof, it's way to early for him to jump down on the hardwood floor.

"Sit" training is coming along nicely. Not that "sit" is particularly important, but getting the clicker going is, so everyone is happy on that front.

We went outside and met a couple of neighbors. We'll need to ramp up the socialization activities in the neighborhood. Not just to socialize Miles, but to start getting neighbors used to him, so they are accepting before he transforms from 15 lbs of cuteness into 50 lbs of chaos.

All in all - not half bad, 2 days into the puppy stuff. Just 3 more years left, and we'll have a great mellow Ridgeback :) :) Hey, time flies way too fast, and only faster with each year gone, so I don't mind.

Some video highlights from Day 2:

Oh, what a wonderful bundle of fun! Love the name - I was really hoping he wouldn't end up being called Mr Wonderful!

Oh I liked Mr Wonderful...

Miles is a good name though. That was the name of my sons cat found dumped in a drainage pipe on a building site..Full name Miles Edward O'Brian.. and his companion was Worf in case you havent guessed my son is a Star Trek fanatic..

I wish Miles a long and happy life with his family...

What a lovely video ! He’s adorable and so sweet with Lolly

Great video, enjoy him :) before you know it the puppy stage has gone! Time has flown with Rolo he'll be 1 in March.
I hope you have lots off years and joy together.

Lovely looking dog although my introduction says I'm hoping for a Bullmastiff the Ridgeback is the other breed I'm really interested in. It'll be interesting to see his progress
