We have found our new baby...

Well, she's 3 years old, not a puppy, but she's wonderful.

Her name is "Libby" and we got her from Julie Meakin in Chester. Her registered name is Oakbark Midday Dreamer and her dad is Oakbark Millenium Gold and mum is Oakbark My Spice Girl. (All these bloodlines are new to me since we are from Florida and my previous whippet were all Sporting Fields breeding.)

She will just be a very happily spoiled member of our family and the only pet (at least for now). We have only had her for 2 weeks but she is settling in nicely.

I love this forum and reading about everyone's whippy's and seeing all the photos! :)

I love the way whippets curl up to sleep....

 Libby is lovely, and looks like a very spoilt younge lady. And quite right too

She's lovely  & that's a real girly expression

Ahaaaa! I know Libby, she is a beautiful girl

I used to have her brother Alfie. Some of you will remember Alf,i had to rehome him as he decided he didn't like Flyn :( ,but he now lives with my good friend Heather

 forgot to say lucky you for getting her

alfyn, I can definitely see the resemblance... in their both their color and their eyes. I'll bet they have similar personalities, too.

Julie has another one we'd love to have (Abby) but she was only willing to part with one. That's okay... we don't need two all at once; I want to get to know Libby first, and make sure she is totally comfortable and secure in her new home. I know she is enjoying all the attention, and snuggling up in bed! :D

what a lucky girl having you all to herself and to Dennis , Dorothy and Julie :huggles: for letting her being an only `child ` , even if it s only a short while ..

Libby is really   and Good Luck :luck: with her - have lots of fun.

What stunning eyes she has got

I love her eyes too! And I don't understand why, in America, this would not be considered ideal as darker eyes are preferred? I don't know much about showing; I read this in the AKC breed standard:

"Head

Keen intelligent alert expression. Eyes large and dark. Both eyes must be of the same color. Yellow or light eyes should be strictly penalized. Blue or wall eyes shall disqualify. Fully pigmented eyelids are desirable."

I wonder what moron decided THIS???

Forgot to add.... I AM American... just confused! :)

Well done on getting Libby, Im sure she and you will have a great time what ever you want to do with her, most excellent breeding

Sporting fields, When I saw them at Whippet speciality in the US I fell in love with every one. Sir Nolan I could have stuffed in my hand luggage
