it bothers me to see long haired dogs cut really short, a Shih Tzu without his silk for instance. I think the coat protects the dog and it needs combing out knots and getting the undercoat shed in the summer and a little trimming for neatness, but not full-scale shaving.

anyway I have some questions re trimming lurchers, you can answer this both for the wirecoated and the smooth varieties; is it usual to trim their raggedy edges such as tale feathering

1) for racing?

2) for the lurcher show ring?
