Lurcher Shows..

Hi,

I have to say that most of the shows and Gamefairs that we go to in the UK, the racing is always in the morning, even the NL&RC with the exception of Duncome Park and that's always the afternoon. But I do have to say that if it's too hot the NL&RC wont run the racing.

I prefer our dogs to race in the mornings as it burns off all the excess energy and they generally show better later in the day.

anybody whos raced at a game fair in england will see exactly where im at with this topic.  heats first thing..showing then finals is the way its done.this keeps the interest alive and the crowd happy.

either way when most ones i know get beat in racing or showing the just get into their cars and go home !!  so i suppose its horse for courses, lose the racing and disappear or lose the showing and go home.

cant please everyone i think is the punchline.

absolutley spot on john with what your saying i go all over the country racing and showing would love to see it run like you have said not all the racing in the afternoon :luck: for this year hope every bodys dogs stay fine cheers paul

Hi Deb,

Yep,we know from experience that the racing in the morning works for us,especially now you have five dogs to knacker out!!!

Amandaxx ;)

good enough ! without doubt the most sensible way to run a show then is racing first followed by showing.

thanks for the clever and constructive answers.
