Lost italian greyhound cambridge

I have lost my 1yr old Italian greyhound, Gracie, who bolted after being chased by a ridgeback, just before 9am today in Milton Park, Cambridge. I have searched for her in the park since then with my partner and other IG, 2 whippets and greyhound, to no avail. Plus drove around in the local vecinity, A14 etc.

She is seal (looks like black) very petite weighing just 4 kilos. She was wearing a brown coat with white fur trim and had a pink collar with red hearts and a red name tag with phone number. She is friendly to people and dogs, and can be picked up and will happily stay in the arms being held.

No one has called and the head ranger has informed fishermen in the park and done a search there but has had no reports of her at all which is very unusual and indicates she may have left the park or is hiding/stuck in undergrowth which does not bear thinking about as there is 98 hectares of it. I am devastated to have lost her.

Please alert anyone you know that might be able to help find her

So sorry to hear this.

You often hear of dogs going back to where they last saw their owner. People have left items of clothing there so that the dog has a familiar scent. Worth a try. I assume she is registered on DogLost?

If all else fails, and it looks like she might be stuck somewhere, there is a dog (bloodhound I think) that can be used to track. The fresher the scent the better. I am sorry but don't know any more than what I have heard about this person who brings her dog to track missing dogs (might do people too??)

Fantastic news, she has been found and is safe and sound!

She appeared near the carpark at Milton Park this morning and recognised our van! My partner camped out in it all night doing some rounds of the park with a torch, hoping she might reappear he could not believe it when she did but approaching from the main road to Miton and the A14 (shudder!). There had been one spotting about an hour after we lost her she had gone 2 miles up the road through Milton village - we are so lucky she has survived this ordeal. She has scoffed a massive plate of tripe and had a horrible but necessary bath (I felt cru inflicting that on her but some load of grub washed out that was irritating her) and if fast asleep cuddled up to me and our other Iggy on the sofa.

Thanks gypsysmum! We took your advice and put down one of her blankets where she disappeared. Thankfully the help of the bloodhound tracker was not needed but what a brilliant service to offer people who have lost their dog perhaps I should make my next dog a blood hound - my whippets used to give me heart attacks disappearing all the time but they always came back and never ever did an all nighter like this little minx!!Exhausted but safe!
