In flanders field...

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved, and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch, be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

We must never forget their sacrifice! That poem always gets to you doesn't it. Thank you for posting that.

its such a shame that many more people dont share the same sentiment.

its always an emotional time if you think of all those who died. :(

Excellent Post Jade, well done and your Mum is going to be very proud of you tomorrow on your first parade. I hope it goes well for you

I am so busy with the arrangements for our Remembrance Day service that my mind can be taken away from the reason for it...I just know it has to run smoothly and be just right, hopefully by 10.45 tomorrow I will be able to remember with the rest of our people.

what i think is lovely about it is that a young girl, posts a tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives, thank you jade (should of said that in my first post)

That's lovely Jade.............. :(

They shall grow not old,as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.
