Lady keeps "breaking wind" whenever she greets me or if I pet her

We're usually inseparable whenever I visit, she even sits on me to try and stop me from leaving my parents' house.

Now I noticed that she's now letting out gas a lot each time she greets me or if I pet her and sing to her (she likes me singing to her).

I want to cuddle with her but her "gas" is really not pleasant. I told her "I love you Lady but I really don't love your farts "

If this is in the wrong forum, I really do apologise, I'm trying my best to stay in the good books, I don't visit this site as much as I use to and I get confused.

Don't worry! I think this is probably the right place for your post and even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter - Josie could easily move it if she thought it would be better elsewhere.

Maybe she relaxes more when you're holding her... It could be that a change of diet will make her a bit more fragrant. Jasper's farts were evil on any kibble but changing to a raw diet changed that completely. What food does she have?

Oh dear, she must be less ladylike when that happens! It could be that she is excited to see you, or perhaps that she is relaxed when you are there so she just loses a little bit of control. If you want to reduce it you might find changing her food helps - my dog isn't guilty of producing gas except after having rich food as treats. We once went to a full day training event and he got a LOT more frankfurter sausage as rewards than normal. His toxic bottom burps literally made my eyes water! So if you want her to have less gas, maybe cut right back on treats and see if her food is perhaps a little rich.

What food does she have?

Lady eats Winalot beef dog biscuits along with a variety of Winalot wet dog food. She also eats Pedigree cheesy beef chews.

She's greedy though and somehow ends up eating some of the meat me and the family have (Lamb, beef, pork or chicken) and she loves vegetables as well.

She used to enjoy gravy but it made her overweight so we stopped letting her have it.

What vegies? some can give dogs upstet tummys like: broccoli

That's not a great food, in my honest opinion. But that's good, because it means there's a good chance that a change in diet would help with her wind! I think she's your parents' dog, is that right? Would they be open to suggestions for a different food? Would they consider raw?

Yeah, she's my mother and stepfather's dog. She's had a rough time, been passed from home to home but I don't understand why anyone would get rid of her, she's really sweet. But anyway, back on topic - My parents feed her all of these foods, I shall discuss the diet with them because even they complain about her farts being very smelly and horrible.

Update: I warned my mother but I'm not sure if she'll pay any attention because my parents spoil their dog a lot and always end up sharing their food with her but if I visit I'll definitely ignore Lady's begging.

As soon as I get a dog of my own, I'll make sure he or she is healthy and hopefully I won't get given unpleasant odours lol
