I don't mind mine jumping up when i come home as i like the feeling they've missed me :b but i hate it when i've got hands full of shopping, so i've taught them all to down stay wherever they are and they wait there til i've finished unloading the car and give them a release command. This obviously is not an overnight solution but is worth the time and effort as after the initial excitement is gone and when released they just calmly come and say hello to me. I also have to do it when i come in with Harry as he understandably doesn't like having his faced washed by a pack of mad dogs!!!

Lilly and Oscar both jump up but Lilly is more gentle and Oscar takes my little lad of his feet every time he comes in the door. We have tried most things but getting him to sit down has not been easy but seems to be working  I must admit I didn't realise it was as common as it is I just thought Oscar was mad
