Hi, first time poster here.

Has anyone ever dealt with this breeder? They sound a bit dodgy to me, quick to take a deposit and full of excuses about not posting pictures of 'litters' to interested people once the deposit has been paid- too busy/forgot/have to take dog to vets, etc.

I am very concerned, given that a disabled friend of mine has paid, and is desperate for a puppy to keep them company. This is the response they are getting.

Very strange.

A quick google found this: Jandaz: Portrait of a Puppy Farmer

Has your friend been to see the pup they want? It's important to see the pup with its mother, and visit the breeder's premises. Though even then the bitch may not actually be that pup's mum, and the premises may not be where the pup usually lives... We have more info on spotting, and avoiding, a puppy farm here: Puppy Farming

Jandaz are well known puppy farmers & nearly always have puppies for sale. There is no such breed as Cockapoo, they are crossbreeds in the first generation & after that are basically mongrels.
They aren't KC breed registerable, although they can be registered on the KC activities register.
The kennels are now run by the daughter & grand daughter of the Griffith's who set up the kennels.
The words barge and pole come to mind

These people who breed dogs in terrible conditions for their own financial gain are absolute scum. The ones that abandon dogs once they're no longer bringing in money deserve their own place in hell for the rest of eternity.

This was a dog from a cockapoo/doodle breeder in the Scottish Borders. Puppies would have been sold with a fake mum that was clean and well cared for, nobody would buy if they saw this dog.

In spoiler as it's quite a horrible sight.
