Is A Whippet Suitable For Me?

Hi Everyone, I have been reading with interest your posts on the whippet breed. I have made enquiries with various rescue homes and often get the comment that whippets (and greyhounds) do not handle stairs very well.

In fact they may damage their joints. It seems this may preclude me from homing a whippet/greyhound/lurcher, despite the fact that my research suggests the breeds temperament is well suited to our circumstances.

Can anyone give feedback/examples of whippets handling stairs OK? :(

I've not heard this one before  We have stairs in our house and they've never been a problem with my whippet. They are very agile creatures :)
