Injury Protocol

Yeh, see, told you I wasn't a vet  Those bacteria are annoying little b******s!

Just as long as they heal up and get better, who cares how it's done eh?

Just an update on this topic as there were so many different thoughts on this.

Tried shaving and steristrips- didnt work, lasted 2 seconds, would be ok for small cut.

Decided to do usual, bathe three times a day in warm salt water.

When dry puff in Vetzyme antibacterial powder this keeps dry and stops licking

Result after only 10 days the gash which was pretty awful and 3 to 4 inches long has now completely healed.

No anaesthetic risk, no stitches, staples vets bills etc.

I would only leave a wound like this if it was clean, involved only skin, was not in an area which stays damp such as underarm . im chuffed and wish i had taken photo now as it is amazing how quickly they heal.

Thanks for all your help  jan

thats good news
