LOL..so how did it all end up with...bit of both types of dogs? When I met Mr. Hemlock, he had terriers and I had lurchers. It was a baptism of fire for both of us.
I've always had terriers and lurchers
That said, I seem to have met a few recently that are a lot more mellow and chilled. Has anybody else experienced that?
There is different 'lines' in working Lakies. There was one Fell terrier breeder, who's 'Middleton line' did had the stronger and slightly wider skull. I don't know how much influence from his breeding is still really showing in these dogs as it was quite some time ago since the breeder's last dogs were active. She had working lakelands but they still had the elongated face and nose ...i prefer the fell terriers to look at ....
We had to go to wales to get our last jack russell as nobody around here had working types so they didnt dock their tails
Yes...they will be done as some will be working dogs for real. We've already made arrangements with the vet for itWill the pups have docked tails ...
Thank you...yes, exciting is the word and I cannot wait to find out the results for this pairing.Only just catching up with this news!! How very exciting and what a handsome boy for your Iida, fingers crossed for a pregnancy and very best wishes for the journey you are about to embark on,( have embarked on! ). Really look forward to the updates and pics and no I will not be getting puppy broody...well... maybe, probably, but still no...
I will sit tight and try to wait patiently until the 5 weeks is full and then I will take Iida to scan. But I just cannot help but look at each every possible change in her body and behaviour and think 'is that a sign!?'My word - her Mum looks varminty - a proper terrier!
You won't see much for weeks. Then at about 7-8 weeks you can put a hand gently on her tummy and feel the whelps as they move around. By 9 weeks you wonder how on earth they stay in there, they are so lively.
