I Eventually Got A Puppy…….

And he is a very hairy whippet!!!!

I went to a breed show to speak to some local breeder and it was wonderful to see all the dogs the only down side was that after stroking them, my hands & eyes became very itchy. So it turns out that I’m allergy so I don’t know if it is their fine hair or the oil. But I didn’t think I could live like that & it would have been unfair to get one. So I got a Shetland Sheepdog instead, not much difference (w00t)

My niece and my sister in law all suffer with allergies to dogs, yet they are fine with my whippets..... tis odd isn't it?

Shelties are a lovely devoted breed. We had beauty called Heidi when we lived on a cattle property years ago - poor girl she was always waiting for 1,000 head of sheep to come down the drive so she could get to work. She had the best work ethic and was totally devoted to the family - when my son started to crawl then walk you would always know where he was as Heidi would be watching over him.

Once (only once) I had her groomed by a professional in the town - she came home with BOWS in her hair - you could almost see her humiliation in front of the other dogs as she was a 'working dog'.
