I cant understand why.

To start I will say I am not in the slightest bothered but a couple of things puzzle me. First, during the day when Folly is sleeping on the sofa, armchair or occasionally a dog bed, she sleeps with her legs neatly tucked up. But over night under the duvet in my bed her legs are always stuck out. Why?
Second, during this nice weather she will go out in the garden, wandering around obviously with no sign of being in a hurry, then when she decides to come in she sets off at a full on run to get to the back door. So again why?

Jasper will sometimes do the sprint back to the house. I guess, having made the decision, why wait?

Oh if we could only speak the dog language to find out why they do all their funny things.
Mine does mad race back into house when she has done the poo in the garden...it is almost like she wants to make it as a big announcement that she is now feeling lighter and happy that her bum is empty
Maybe your little one's dash is just sign of 'I enjoy all this..and the feeling is over flowing..'
'Stretched out under duvet' = 'I'm warm/hot...comfy...feeling safe...' If she would be tightly curled up under duvet...she would be far too warm. And beside if you are stretched out on bed, why shouldn't she do that too...

Yes I guess you have summed it up, I never thought about the difference in being warm between the day and night. And with the garden sprint I can only think she does it because she can.
