How often do you bathe your dog?

My show cavaliers get bathed most weeks in a quality dog shampoo, followed by a quality conditioner, that is tailored to the requirements of the particular dog's coat. For the most part Whal Pro Oatmeal essence shampoo & Easy groom Conditioner works well, however if extra hydration is needed then I use Groomers Coat repair shampoo & conditioner.

That said, my oldest lady - Karly (at 13 and a half) has a very fine, but dry coat and so far the only products to have made a good job of her coat have been MD10 Yorkshire Terrier Shampoo & MD10 Soft & Silky conditioner, followed by Chris Christiansen Precious Drop leave-in hydrating spray!

I also use Chris Christiansen Silk Spirits leave in hydrating serum on the others.

Keeping coats in top condition takes a lot of effort. Lol

Sounds like a lot of work! Must be worth it though if you're showing, love Cavaliers!
I love Whal shampoos, we use the deep black one in the salon and it smells gorgeous, so anyone with a black dog, try that one, it's delightful!

Plus, for anyone that has a big dog or doesn't want to bath their dog too much, I've been using a dry dog shampoo by dogs trust, I don't know if they still do it as it's been in the cupboard for a while, it's a foamy one that is so easy to use and it keeps my dog smelling gorgeous for days, maybe even a week. Which is good for keeping the 'doggy' smell that my partner complains about at bay. I don't mind the smell of course, she's a dog, obviously she's going to smell 'doggy'

Wash his feet, legs and underbelly every morning after we come back from the field. Apart from that he is bathed with a face trim by my lovely groomer after four weeks. A full coat trim and bath every eight weeks. Which makes his bath four weekly. He has the occasional shower if he rolls on the field. He is little and has a woolly bichon coat which doesn't moult.

Misty normally has a bath about every six weeks, which in her opinion is far too frequently!

Whenever she smells like wet dog to be honest. She's had one bath in the last year and a half. I wipe her down with a wetwipe after muddy walks. Once she's dried and had a once over with a brush, she's good as new.

She's not a roller and has short smooth fur that doesn't hold their dirt.
Ah, i wish Olive had short fur and i didn't hold poo or dirt
