As I already mentioned..yes, terriers. It is a only dog type we've had over last 30'odd years. I do love all sorts of dogs and been happy to dog sit friends dogs, but somehow it is terriers that make my heart skip with their characters.
Currently we have dogs no.5 (Iida) 15 months old working type 'lakeland' bitch and no.6 (Eva), a 6 months old Lakeland X Fox terrier bitch... OH YES...tons of fun with these two busy bodies  We usually do home 'secondhand' terriers but this time round it had to be pups.
Not being 'puppy' kind of person and liking the calmness of little bit older dog, don't know what come over me to go for young one and then insult for the 'injury'..year later get another one! Yeah, it has been hard work (and it still is) but no regrets and all that hard work of handling two hyper active working type terriers is already paying off. I would not part with them...loving them to bits!
Right...now that the introductions are done and you have been given fair warning of possible things to come....;)...I shall progress to look around the forum and see what is going on.

Hi Finsky and welcome to the forum. I love all dogs but Im partial to terriers too. :D

Welcome! I do like dogs with a bit of character, and terriers have plenty of that!

I wonder if people are like their dogs. One of mine’s a short stamina couch potato, the other one’s nosy and likes nothing better than watching out the window. I haven’t got the energy for terriers, but they are gutsy little dogs with huge character and heart!

Terriers or as I call them terrorists. .... great dogs..

And by the look of your photo....JRs? Yes, I do love all sort of dogs too. I think I've only ever met just one dog I truly disliked and it wasn't because of its breed, just that it was truly a mental one. So utterly spoiled individual that turned very nasty towards everybody, even its owners. Never seen anything like it.

Hmm...I'm tempted to say yes, to certain degree. But that makes me wonder how people see me with what I've got around my ankles :D So...which one do you resemble of?;)

And thank you for you all for kind welcome. Really looking forward to learn more about you and particularly your 'little ones'. Oh yes, all dogs are 'little ones' regardless of their actual physical size.

definitely a sighthound, though not in build. ;). We used to compete in agility, and, if you warmed him up a little too long, he was ready to head back to the caravan for a snooze!

Welcome from another terrier owner ! They are quite special and quirky and I’m sure you have to be a little crazy to own one

Hello ....Border Terriers are my weak spot. A bit like yourself I had five on the go, all working dogs. Only got the one left now and she's 17 1/2 .

Oh wow..she is doing well..a terrier girl with respectable age. It is not all down to just genetics, you must have looked after her very well indeed.

Thank you.....a little crazy?! Nah... if one is into these kind of little monsters, one has to be little loose between ears or they will run you bonkers

They've all lived to a good age, even the disabled one I had. He was a my little big man who I had to teach how to walk again. It took just over 3 years but worth every minute. He lived to be 16, the other dogs were brilliant with him as they grew up together. He was like a trotting pony when he walked but his mind was as sharp as a weasels. Not bad to say 4 different vets recommend PTS.

Hello from Harri ( Welsh terrier).

I've always had terriers too!

Nice to hear you kept your own mind about him and proved they are worth it even if slightly lacking with perfection. They are always perfect in our eyes...;)
I'm glad that my current pup's breeder was stubborn too and refused to go by the vet's recommendation. Eva is runt of the litter, wasn't supposed to survive and vet said it would be best 'to let her go'. But no....that woman partially hand reared her. When I took over the 'mum' duties, yes..she was small for her age but nothing wrong with her otherwise. And she now is making up what she might have had short comings in her first weeks of life. Feisty little thing and yet very gentle and loving pup..coming on to normal full size for sort of dog.

And hello back! I don't think I've ever seen Welsh terrier in real life...always wondered about those how they compare with lakies. Yes, one can read about them but it is never same thing as actually owning one. Maybe I will be lucky one day to come across one or even have one.

The only time I’ve heard of a Welsh terrier, I think, is in a rather rude song by Matt McGinn, Scottish comedian/singer, called The Dogs Party. Came in and stirred up trouble I think!

LOL...though for that 'purpose' most of the terriers would do.
