Help With Humping Dog

hi, i have a 7 month old husky x staff....she is a lovely dog, very friendly (sometimes too friendly!) loving and very obedient. she gets walked/run everyday but does spend about 6 hrs a day on her own as we are in work, i've noticed in the last 2 weeks she is constantly trying to have sex with her bed! she done it a little bit when she was about 3 months old but it soon passed and didn't do it at all up untill now. is there any particular reason why she is doing this? her sister lives around the corner from us and they do see each other sometimes and she doesn't do it, just mine. :/

any advice would be great thank you!!

Has she been neutered ?

Could she be coming into season?

Mine do this when they are coming into or are in season?

My 10 month old puppy does it the most, but generally to my other dog whereas my older dog does it to a toy or bed.

ahhh, no she hasn't been neutered yet and i'm just waiting for her to come into her first season, i thought it may be something like that....

but was a little concerned, as long as i have nothing to worry about then i'm happy!!

It may be a hormonal thing, but with a lot of dogs it's a dominance thing too, so that may be just the fact that she's going through her teenage phase and is starting to question her place in her pack like all pups do to one extent or another.

I know lots of dogs, both male and female, and both neutered and entire, that use humping as part of the dominance games that dogs play.

I'd give her something else to do when you catch her doing it, but don't make a big thing of it if she's only humping her bed. It's not like she's pinning next door's cat down and humping it or attached to visitors' legs.
