Help with Golden puppy

Hi I'm new to the forum and hoping for some advise.
My 7.5 month old golden retriever is drooling really bad and she can't control it. She is leaving puddles behind when she sleeps and all of her coat is soaked from drool.
I have taken her to the vet 2 days ago and they couldn't pinpoint why it was happening as all of her checks were normal.

Has anybody experienced this before? Could it be a teething problem? Is it a symptom of her being due in season?

It could well be teething, I'm surprised your vet didn't hit on that.. Try freezing some carrots for her to gnaw on, or cut an old tea towel into strips, plait and firmly knot them, wet them and freeze - gnawing that will soothe her gums. It won't stop the drooling but it will give her some relief.

Or - is it a recent short term issue - could she have encountered something and licked it (I have read dogs licking a frog or toad can cause this sort of thing)?

Did the vet have a really good look in her mouth? Something caught between her teeth or a stick jammed across the roof of her mouth could cause this.

yes definitely let another vet have a look.

There's something called 'frog tongue' involving the saliva gland in the floor of the mouth. But I'm sure a vet would recognise that...so yeah, teething maybe. I'd ask for further examination I think. Good luck.
