Help needed with nervous greyhound

No, Tinytom, I’m referring to the event on Max Yasgur’s farm in 1969 which was followed in 1970 by the Isle of Wight festival where your namesake (or close) entered us with “There’ll always be an England” before pushing off in a hot air balloon. What fun!
Sorry, I meant “entertained us….” and not “entered us…..”.

My parents ruined my life by not allowing me to go to the I of W festival. I was SO upset.

It was an eye opener. If you went just for the music, and could shut all senses off from the squalor, drugs and discourteous behaviour of people of our age, it was a treat - The Who, The Doors ( Jim M’s last gig), Jimi Hendrix ( ditto), Joni Mitchell, Moody Blues plus loads more. Pro rata the cost didn’t make a hole in your pocket. However it made me feel ashamed of my generation. The voluntary social services were present but were scorned vociferously by many yet it was those St John’s Ambulance volunteers tending to those having bum acid horrors. Blimey, I sound just like my old housemaster!

Well you are showing your age with the reference to the Woodstock festival. I thought I was the only one who remembered that. Of course I was very small in those days (I wish) and I had forgotten about Tiny Tom or was it Tiny Tim? Or was Tiny Tim in a comic strip. I do wish you hadn't mentioned that as it is going to haunt me

Bishop, definitely Tiny Tim accompanying himself on a ukulele. I never understood his appeal nor that if the Singing Postman. I can remember at the Isle of Wight when it was announced that Mungo Jerry had cancelled - the biggest cheer went up!
