Help Needed Please

The course code is T189 and I think the next one starts next May. It costs £175, but luckily I had enough Tesco vouchers saved up to pay for it! It's been good, although I'm sure if I'd put more effort into it, it would have been better. I used quite a lot of photos I'd already got rather than go out and take more, especially as the weather hasn't been too good. But I'd recommend it as I think I've learnt a fair bit about using my camera off the automatic settings, and also learnt quite a lot about using photoshop elements. So even if I fail, it's still been worthwhile! :lol:

1, 4, 7, 9, 10 are the ones I would pick. I don't know much about photography but I'll ask Lloyd to look at this thread as he has an interest and is more up on the technical side. Very nice shots though, I really like the steam train one as it invites you to linger a bit longer.

Great pics :thumbsup: I agree with an earlier comment about cropping, most of the pictures would have more impact with some tighter cropping, i.e no 1 cropped below (sorry for playing with your pics :unsure: ) also to apply the rule of thirds with more oomph :thumbsup: If a shot isn't perfect in terms of focus it's probably best not to submit it, tempting as it is when you capture a fantasic shot which is just just out of focus, grit your teeth and archive it. I find that a good guide to knowing if a shot has impact is to thumbnail it and squint when you look at it, you can just see shapes rather than being distracted by the subject matter so you will see if the photo has a strong shape to it. Woud love to see the rest of the photos :thumbsup:

I really like that crop. :thumbsup: I'd never have thought of going close in like that. I did try a tighter crop of my own but still kept in a lot of the background and it really didn't look right, but what you've done is really good and provides more impact. Thanks! :cheers:

Glad you like it :thumbsup: I also used heal tool (photoshop) to remove the yellow blob on the stamen (I think that's what it's called, the bit in the middle of the flower, I aint no botanist ) I think the best one's are 1,3,4,5,9

That's excellent. I like that crop. :thumbsup: It's amazing how a good crop can enhance a picture.

If you go in very close, you will also see that there is a bit of green showing round the petals, so I will need to touch that up too. :thumbsup:
