Yesterday Murphy went over the bridge....after a misdiagnosis of dementia we were told he had had a stroke which had left him blind ....for 3 months he coped very well but the past few weeks he had had a cluster of small strokes each taking a piece of him away ....early hours of yesterday morning he had another leaving him compromised on his right side ...he wasnt in pain but yesterday afternoon he was anxious as he could no longer get up by himself although could walk once up ...
Unfortunately out vets are no longer offering home visits for our dogs when they need go be helped over the bridge...I contacted a private company who turns out the vets used to work at our practice...they came in 3 hours ...the vet that came was amazing , Murphy laid in his bed eating his favourite treats whilst he fell asleep ....
He was the youngest of our 3 lurchers 11 next month ...we adopted him at 16 weeks old ...
Tilly is 12 next month and her back end is wasting away ...so we know the inevitable is coming again soon ....
Run free precious boy until we meet again xxxxx

My heart goes out to you, one day you will meet up again.

I'm so sorry, its utterly heartbreaking when they go. The greater the love, the greater the pain. Thinking of you.

I’m so sorry. Words are inadequate. Thoughts with you and yours. However he’s out of any discomfort and confusion. X

I'm so sorry, Tinytom. (((((Hugs)))))

I'm so sad for you. You did the right thing by him. You gave him a wonderful life and the best possible ending at the right time.

The top left pic is him at 16 weeks ..he had a square black muzzle.....

Just received a lovely card from the vet who came and helped Murphy on his way Thursday...she had even taken a paw print from him ...it made me laugh and cry as he hated having dirty pawsxx

How lovely. It meant a lot to me when my vet sent a card after Monty dies.

How very kind. There are some lovely people out there.
