Good Day

It was lovely seeing all the pups there today. There had to be at least 8 of them under a year old and all enjoying the outing

Great photos Lloyd.

Great pics Lloyd, and a great day all round. It started for us with a fight to cut Smidge's nails. All my dogs are good about having their nails cut, although Squeaks doesn't like it at all. I went wrong with Smidge in that the 1st time I cut his nails he was asleep so didn't know about it, but the 2nd time I pinned him in the armchair next to me, and tried to Dremmel them. He absolutely freaked out, but I thought he was just being his wilfull self, and I persevered and made him stay in the chair - bad move, as now he is frightened. Anyway, I managed just to cut his nails yesterday morning, and with some calm talking and cuddles, he got through it without too much worry. I should have left the Dremmel idea until he was used to me doing his nails I think

So, with the nails out of the way, we came over to Gloucester leaving sunny Hereford, and turning up to thick pea soup fog :( But, what a fantastic day, so nice to see everyone, and Smidge had the time of his life (w00t) He loved meeting all the people and dogs, and fell in love with Alisha (sure I've spelt that wrong!). He watched the racing intently, and even pulled on the end of his lead to go chase with the big dogs.

Love the pic of Smidge and Jack who is a relation of course, being Smidge's Grandad's brother (not sure what that makes him) :teehee: It was great to see all the other pups there too, and it was quite a puppy gathering. Can't believe how Chyppe has grown, and Geoff's Sam is a big boy now. Nice to see you back Kim - not before time, and good to welcome Jenny and David with "For Pete's Sake", and of course the Peppermint family. Well done to all the finalists who were obviously sighthounds, 'cos other breeds wouldn't have seen that lure in the fog

Glad your floaters are OK Jo - must have been that lovely meal we had afterwards at the pub    :teehee:

Now you know the way Julie, you must come again - 2 weeks time perhaps???

This is Smidge after his thrilling day - peace at last :p

And in his favourite pose........... avert your eyes children :- "

I've been talking to Geoff on the phone tonight, and we thought it would be good for you all to give us your ideas on what Jack might be saying to Smidge - or what Smidge might be saying to Jack.

Geoff said Smidge is saying "you tell your kids to watch out for ME next year"!!

I think Jack might be saying "look here sonny boy, watch me and learn, and I'll show you how to get the girls" (w00t)

It's a fab pic Lloydy

I think that Jack is saying to Smidge "Just listen to me, give them the puppy dog look and they will be putty in your paws!"

(although I think Smidge already has it to a T! )

You're right there Darc - he's darn good at giving that look, and getting away with murder :teehee:

I think the other dogs will be glad when he quietens down a bit - it was such peace here before he arrived. I expect you know what I mean Darc - I saw the Chyppe going mad video (eventually, no broadband :( )!!
