Hi All,
We have a 7 month old pup and work full time. We both have flexible hours but I do feel guilty leaving the little one even though it is only for a couple of hours at a time.
Does any one have suggested pass times or other coping strategies?
I think a dog walker/sitter would help but the ones I've tried don't seem keen until she has been spayed.
Thank you in advance

frozen kongs were life savers for me. i used peanutbutter or tuna fish and had a rotating stable of frozen ones.

Do you know what she does when she's left? Does she play or eat at all? My dog will empty a kong but it wouldn't occur to him to play by himself so the key is to make sure he's ready for a long nap/lie-down. Each dog will be different.

Even if a dog walker is reluctant to take her for a walk, you might be able to find one who is happy to visit once a day and have a play in the house or garden.

Thank you both.
Is it the bone shaped kong or the other one? she hasn't been bothered about them before but she does go through phases so I can try again.
We have a webcam in the room and generally she sleeps or does a bit of chewing - up to now, things she is allowed to chew.
we still leave pee pads down and she enjoys ripping those up :(
I take her for a walk in the morning and again at lunch before i leave her again so my hope is that the walks tire her a bit.

bax likes the beehive shaped one. plenty of room for stuffing =)

Personally I wouldn't worry,if the dog seems ok like you say when you leave it for a few hours, why change its routine. It's only a good thing that you can leave it. There will be plenty of times in the future when you have no choice but to leave the dog at home.

Simply 2 Pets who are on this directory sent us some K9 connectable's to try (review coming soon) and Dennis genuinely loves them. They're great because you can keep extending the connectables and you can change the difficulty level as they work out how to get them off!

Dennis frequently throws the connectables at me and I know exactly what he wants!

@Josie These look great! Are they going to offer a discount on this do you think? I'd like to buy some.

Thank you! I'll probably buy each type i.e. the bone, the original and the other one.

That’s why they’re good - you can keep adding on when you have some money or fancy getting them a present :)
