As you may be aware i am a dog warden and last Sunday we were called to collect a stray Whippet X from Seaton in Workington.

This dog so far hasn't been claimed and there is a high chance of it being PTS as our contract kennels are full and no-one has expressed an interest in him. Obviously it gets a statutory 7 days in our care which ends Monday morning.

Does anyone know of a red brindle dog approx 12 - 16 weeks old that has gone missing recently? Sore looking pads so it has probably ran a fair distance.

Been to have a cuddle and walked him this morning and he is a little sweetie, more Whippety to call him a Lurcher. If not claimed he desperatley needs rehomed as he will make a lovely pet.

plse plse contact doglost website they may be able to help

:( AWW hope he finds a home soon ,so sad for him to be put to sleep :(

can someone from here not foster him til a permannet home is found ? is this a case for the tilly fund? we must be able to help somehow?

If you get stuck and can get him up north , we will foster him until a permanent home come up

barb in east sussex will have him and find him a home please dont let this dog be put to sleep he is only a baby

I wish I'd known about this a little earlier. I live about 7 miles from Seaton, Workington, Cumbria, I could have fostered him for a while. I have a whippet and a whippet cross so he'd have been most at home here. :) If I can be of ANY help please let me know.

He must have been so frightened, poor little scrap :(

Surely someone must be missing him???

I hope he gets a nice secure new home with a lovely soft sofa to sleep on :D

I have spoken with one of my foster carers who will happily take this chap. The pup will be vaccinated/flea treated/wormed. He will be rehomed in the New Year under HWAR adoption criterea.

My number is posted in an earlier post.

Transport would have to be organised on a voluntary basis. Unfortunatly we have no room at our Hereford or Worcester kennels, but I think he needs to be in a home environment anyway. I am in East Sussex.

Plenty of offers here for the little fellow please let us all know whats happening to him

Please don't put this little one to sleep seems like there are alot of offers to foster him on k9

This is great news. I have a few Pm's to reply to and hopefully this little chap will be coming out of the kennels soon. I have already put a reserve on him to save him from going you know where!!

This is my first Christmas in this job and i'm increasingly surprised to see the amount of unwanted dogs already, it is disgusting to say we are a nation of animal lovers.

Just out of interest does anyone have links with rescue kennels in the North? We (the council) are currently looking for alternatives to try for zero destruction.
