Hi! I'm Anne. I have a dog and I considered her as my best friend. I have her since when I am 15 years old. I truly love her! We played everyday. But one day, she became dispirited because of the flea and tick. I really don't know where did she get that thing and it really bothered me. This thing is new for me, I searched to find a solution and tried a product once. But it is not effective. And now I am looking for a product that will solve my dog's problem. I want her to be happy and comfortable again. Can you please help me. What product will I use?

I believe this medication is primarily to treat heartworm which as far as I'm aware we do not see in the UK as it is spread by mosquitoes. The possible exception being dogs who have travelled abroad.

Best to see a vet for a reliable treatment.

I agree that your vet is the best person to advise you. A nurse may be able to give advice if your dog has been seen by a vet recently.

Anne, once you've seen a vet and sorted the problem then most inportant thing is too keep it at bay, sensible timings of of flea and tick treatment is important , one of mine got a tick bite that made him not right so a vet is at this time the right call. Best of luck and keep us informed .

Agree with the vets - my little chap has two tablets about every quarter, one for fleas/ticks the other for worms. I've been told by nearly every dog owner I meet, and our vet, not to use the off the shelf stuff in stores.

My dog had a tick last month - call me niave but i used to think ticks and fleas were one of the same!

I removed it myself, I'm pretty sure it hurt him, so now have a proper tick remover. I use frontline, i get a lot of mixed messages about how and when to treat, but i'm sticking with frontline for now

Frontline spray (when required) and a tick remover (my other half) is what we use. Works perfectly for us.
