fRAZER'S WEBPAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH VIDEOS AND MORE INFO, PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW
Frazer is just a baby, born October 2018, and has had the worst start you can think of for a puppy. Taken way too soon from his litter mates and mum, had two homes already and no input, training or effort at all in that time. He found himself in a dangerous situation and thankfully was rescued by one of our most experienced foster Mums and now needs his very own FUREVER Home asap.

Frazer left his litter mates and Mum too early so has limited canine manners - ideally he would be in an experienced home as the only dog so that his socialisation and introduction to the world can be safe and gentle. However, he is in rescue with an older steady female dog, so who knows! He cannot live with small children as Frazer can get mouthy in play and may accidentally hurt a small child, so we think age 10+ could be best, if any.

He has had NO input whatsoever and has been shuttled between a kitchen and a back yard then dumped on the street to take care of himself - he is with our fosters in a home now and is learning to walk nicely on the lead and all about toilet training. He is not cat friendly. He is a sweet little chap but will need someone with previous experienced, ideally someone with a bull background, to help this lad find his paws. You will need to be prepared to start right at the beginning with socialisation and introduction to the world as Frazer has been denied that by his previous "owners".

However, we are glad to say that Frazer is coming on in leaps and bounds with the care of his foster mum and our professional behaviourist's visits, and he will be a great addition to a loving home.

He is in foster in Nottingham and you will need to be prepared to visit him at least twice before adopting and fully commit to this pup. He CANNOT go to another home and then be let down - you must be 100% committed to the time, work, effort and patience he will need. Please only apply if you know you can absolutely stick with him and give him the home he deserves.

AUTUMN

Sadly, 3 year old Autumn is back in foster with Skylor Rescue in North Wales after her new family found they couldn’t walk her and care for her properly due to their ill health. She’s house trained, and walks nicely on the lead. Autumn gets on well with other dogs. Although she’s a very sweet girl being a greyhound, she can’t live with cats or small furries. She’s neutered, vaccinated, chipped, flea and worm treated. Home check and adoption fee apply. Skylor rehome nationwide.

If you’re interested, please complete the application form.

BONNIE

Meet gorgeous girl Bonnie. She’s just retired from racing, is 3 years old and she’s in foster with Skylor Rescue in North Wales. Bonnie has a lovely playful nature and is good with other larger dogs. Like most ex-racers, she won’t be able to live with small dogs, cats or other small furries. She would be best with older children only as she’s very playful and could knock small ones over. Bonnie is vaccinated, chipped, flea and worm treated and will need neutering in 3 months as she’s been in season. Sadly, she had to have most of her tail amputated while in kennels due to an injury. Home check and adoption fee applies. Skylor adopt nationwide.

If you are interested, please complete the application form.

SAM

This is our best boy Sam who so many people just adore. He’s an 8 year old Staffie who was taken to the vets to be put to sleep as he was no longer wanted. He loves his home comforts so is very sad to be in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue. He’s looking to be an only pet and he isn’t keen to be home alone for longer than 3-3 1/2 hours as he gets stressed after that. He isn’t destructive, he just looks for company. Sam is well mannered, walks really well on the lead and has good basic training. He’s great with people and just loves cuddles and toys.

Sam really struggles in kennels and we are very worried about him as he is confused and very stressed. We are urgently looking for a pet free home for Sam. He is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes. Also, Underheugh don’t rehome to families with children under 10.

If you’re interested in Sam, please complete the application form by clicking on the link below

This is our very special little girl, Pandy. She’s the sweetest soul you could ever meet and she just melts your heart. She is 14 years young and is a healthy girl who enjoys life so much. She is in foster in West Scotland at present and she would happily fit in with just about any home. We would love to see her find her furever home and a family who would love her and cherish her for the rest of her life. She gets pain relief to help her feel comfortable as she has a touch of arthritis, but other than that she’s very healthy. We wouldn’t like her to have to climb lots of stairs but she is a joy to be with and would make someone the best companion. She is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes. Also, Underheugh don’t rehome to families with children under 10.

If you are interested in Pandy, , please complete the application form.

Stunning 5 year old Staffie boy Marley is currently in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue but he’s constantly being over looked and we can’t understand why. He’s smart, he’s got great manners and he’s very loving. He builds up a bond with people very quickly and would make a loyal, loving companion to someone who would give him this chance. He had a tough start in life, being passed about on selling sites until he was at last bought by a lovely lady who handed him over to rescue to keep him safe. Underheugh have tried to give him the stability and care he needs to enable him to find the right home and he is more than ready for this move. He needs to be an only dog and he isn’t cat tested; he needs an adult only home or any children to be teenagers. He has to be an only pet and he’ll need to go to someone with experience with rescues but he deserves so much to find someone who will give him the chance of moving out of kennels. He is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Marley hasn’t had the best life so far but he still loves to play (especially a game of tug!), he loves his walks and he loves his cuddles. Could you offer Marley a sofa and a home to call his own?

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes. Also, Underheugh don’t rehome to families with children under 10.

HAMISH IS ON HOME TRIAL!

Elvis is a small Staffie Cross (probably English Bull Terrier) who hasn’t had much of a life and it’s likely he never went outside his own house and garden as the world is a very new place to him. He’s very worried about what’s happened to him; he’s been dumped, spent time in a strange kennel and now moved on again.

Elvis is 3 years old, currently in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue and has to be an only pet. He’s the coolest, most fun loving boy, full of character and he’s looking for someone who will fall for his cheeky face. He’s great with people and loves nothing more than a cuddle and a butt scratch. He loves his walks but it’s probable that he’s previously hardly been out as he just isn’t sure of the big wide world. Elvis just wants someone to love him and he will then devote himself to that person, becoming the most loving pet and companion anyone could wish for. Can you find a space in your home and heart for Elvis?

Elvis would only be suitable for living with older children, i.e. teenagers. He is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes.

If you are interested, please complete the application form.

Dodger has spent two Christmases in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue and we don’t know why he’s been there for so long. He’s such a happy boy who is loved by so many people but he is still waiting on a home of his very own. He’s being overlooked because although he’s friendly he’ll ignore new people and just want to sniff about and head out for a walk. But once he knows you he’ll squeak with delight when he sees you and he would make someone such a loyal friend.

Dodger is a tiny, cheeky 4 year old Staffie and anyone who knows him loves him. He’s so much fun to be with and he loves his walks but also his cuddles. He’s a wonderful wee Staffie boy who just deserves a home of his own and we would be so happy to see him find that.

Dodger has to be an only dog and isn’t suitable to anyone without previous experience of rescues but he deserves a chance and for someone to meet him and fall for his cheeky little face. Dodger would only be suitable for living with teenagers and older. He is house trained, Neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes.

We are looking for help from you please to find OUR Furever Home - PREMISES REQUIRED

To enable us to keep helping dogs like Maximus and Chica and Rocky we need to find new premises as soon as possible.

We need new kennels that:

  1. Meet the revised DEFRA regulations (October 2018). While we know these are not required by law for a rescue, we feel those are the minimum acceptable standards of space, heat, warm, light and comfort. Although rescues may not be bound by the same legislation as commercial boarding kennels, we feel rescue dogs deserve the same minimum standards.
  2. Are secure and safe and weatherproof.
  3. Have space for daily interaction, exercise and behavioural work.
  4. Has an opportunity to repeat Maximus’ experience with a separate space that allows calm and relaxation for the dogs who need it (if possible).
  5. Has space to create a ‘living room’ where dogs can spend time in a domestic environment having one to one attention and enrichment activity, if possible.
We are happy to consider renting a block of kennels long term from someone or indeed a smallholding with outbuildings and a paddock.

WE ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO INVEST IN THE FACILITIES to bring them up to standard if necessary and we have funds available to do so. We are a UK Registered Charity and have been for over 5 years and we can demonstrate financial capability.

We would like to be located ideally between North Shropshire, South Cheshire and North Wales – but we are very much open to considering locations neighbouring.

The most important criteria is a decent standard of premises that allows the dogs a certain standard of care and well being.

If you know of any property available or soon to be available that meets our criteria, please could you get in touch?

An email to helpnwdogrescue@gmail.com would be great!

We are very excited at how much we could achieve so would appreciate your support in helping us make our dream a reality.

Making a difference, one dog at a time.

We are hoping you’ll help us help Milo find the home he deserves. He’s a very handsome 3 year old American Bulldog cross, he has a fantastic nature, loves everyone he meets and is good with other dogs.

Milo is not cat tested.

Milo is super strong on the lead and is built like a bull so we would prefer to home him with older children due to his size and strength.

He does love children though but would probably mow them down and then give them a good wash!!

Milo loves to play and would benefit from an active family home. Milo is neutered and chipped and is ready to find his forever family.

He’s in kennels at the moment in Carmarthen where we are sponsoring his place and if possible we’d prefer a home local or thereabouts please!

angel-SM-300x300.png

Angel is a 2-year-old Mastiff cross, currently in Underheugh Ark Rescue kennels in West Scotland.

Angel is a sweet girl, who is very affectionate and love people, food and toys. She’s a wonderful, stunning, loving girl who deserves to find someone who will love her. She has problems with her hind leg and she may have to have it removed; we will cover the cost of this if it proves necessary but sadly this is putting people off helping her.

Angel could live with a calm male but they would need to be medium/large breed dogs. She can’t live anywhere with stairs as she would struggle going up and down them. She is vaccinated and chipped but not yet neutered, as she has to wait for 3 months after her last season.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes. Also, Underheugh don’t rehome to families with children under 10.

Iif you are interested, please complete the enquiry form by clicking the link below.

Stunning blue boy Monkey is a 6 year old Mastiff Cross currently in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue and he’s a big, strong boy but he is very well mannered. He’s absolutely perfect in the house and is super friendly with everyone he meets. He adores people and is very loving but gentle too. He loves to play football, but also loves nothing more than to curl up next to you for a good cuddle.

Monkey is strong to walk and needs to be the only pet but for someone who enjoys walking and who is used to stronger dogs he’s very easy going. He does love a good long walk and he would love to find a home of his own. He is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes. Also, Underheugh don’t rehome to families with children under 10.

flo-300x300.png

Flo is a 3 year old Staffie and she needs a very special home. She needs someone who will meet her over a number of months at Underheugh Ark rescue kennels and build up a bond with her. Once she knows and trusts you she loves you. She has to be an only pet and no children or visiting children. She needs a quiet, calm home where she can learn to trust again.

Flo had had a difficult past where she has been abused and as a result she is very nervous of strangers. Sadly she hasn’t yet met the right person who is prepared to take things at her pace. Until she knows you she is very scared. One day Flo will meet her soulmate who will give her the chance she is patiently waiting for.

We hope more than anything that one day we will find Flo her special someone who will take her home and give her the life she deserves so much. She has been badly abused by people and more than anything she deserves to know we aren’t all monsters.

Flo is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes.

Duke is a 7 year old Staffie currently in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue and he’s just a star. He’s so friendly and just loves everyone he meets. He’s fine with other dogs although not keen on entire males. He could live with a calm female dog. He walks well on the lead and has good manners. He loves his home comforts but also likes to go out exploring, as long as the weather is nice. He really doesn’t like the rain! Duke would love to meet someone who would fall for his handsome good looks and give him the furever home and love he so deserves.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes. Also, Underheugh don’t rehome to families with children under 10. He is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Meet Oscar a 1 year old Staffie cross, currently in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue. He’s just a young boy and is a bit worried about what’s happened to him and he doesn’t understand why he’s been dumped. He’s had little training and it’s likely he’s been dumped when the puppy novelty wore off and the cheeky adolescent arrived. Oscar is a young, bouncy boy who is loads of fun but doesn’t yet know boundaries. He needs someone who has had a dog before as he needs training and he can be mouthy so any children would need to be teenagers. He’s dog friendly but any resident dog would need to be very tolerant as he will push things so ideally we would like him to be an only dog.

Oscar is a lovely lad who would love to move from kennels into a home. He is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes.

If you are interested in Oscar, please complete the application form by clicking on the link below.

Nevis is a Mastiff Cross and he is a lovable big lad, currently in kennels with Underheugh Ark Rescue. He’s been out for sleep overs and he loves being part of a home. He’s 5 years old and has been moved from place to place after being sold on selling sites and he now needs to find stability and a home to settle in. He has to be an only dog and he needs a rescue experienced furever home with no children. He is house trained, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.

Big Nevis is a wonderful dog who just adores being with people. He’s a very laid back dog who likes to plod along at his own pace, but doesn’t like anyone touching his food and he’s not keen on any strenuous activity either! Could you give this big adorable boy a new furever home?

Please note that Underheugh only rehome in the Glasgow/Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire areas as many of their dogs need support when they move into furever homes.

Treacle when first rescued

….. and after a few weeks
Treacle is a young Lurcher, not yet 12 months old. She was abandoned with poor skin condition before Christmas and came into kennels as a stray.

She had obviously suffered a great deal of neglect.

Fast forward a few weeks with some tender loving care, and she is as good as new!!

Treacle is full of beans, super people and dog friendly, loves everyone! She has not been cat tested.

She could do with basic training but is keen to learn. She isn’t used to walking on a lead and will need gentle encouragement. She also, quite understandably, has separation anxiety, and we can give you tips on how to handle this to gain her confidence.

This beautiful young girl would suit a family wanting a loving companion, she’s just a bigger version of a lap dog….or so she thinks!

Treacle is neutered and chipped and ready to find her furever family.

She is in kennels in Carmarthen and will need to be rehomed within a reasonable distance of the rescue for ongoing support etc.
