Fast groowing lump

Hello, I recently posting in the behaviour forum, about my dog having anxiety. After great advice he is doing great and getting better every day. But as he had a accident resulting in a broken leg and an operation for a plate to be put in, he came back under weight, so i added a little more food to his diet, but i noticed a few days back a small lump at the back of his neck and every day its got larger, today it is about the side of a golf ball. It doesnt seem to be sore as i can feel it without him paying much attention and he isnt scratching at it. I am due in the vets on thur to get his stitches out so I can ask in the vets then but just wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be?

Anything really fast growing needs a vet to see it asap- or at least that's what I'd do.

Yeah, well I have an appointment on thur no other appointments closer, just wondering if anyone has any experience with something similar

There is all manner of lumps and pumps that can affect our dogs. I suspect something that is visibly growing larger by day could be infection type of lump/cyst. Vet might put needle in and see what will come out if anything before investigating further for more expensive ways. You mentioned you dog has had operation....so I assume he has recently had injections too...maybe close where that lump is? Injection sites can get 'aggravated' resulting lump/cyst growth.
You are lucky that he has appointment so soon so that can be check out asap.

Thanks, hopefully its nothing major, yes had an operation no idea if they used that area for injections. Only thing that has changed recently other than the leg break and plate put in is, his antibiotics, and pain killer that last dose is tonight, just hoping after everything thats happened in the last week its not the start of something new. But thanks for the information
