Whats up with Alfie,  Clair.

Funny Sarah  :*

His biggest problem is being somewhere near 14, he aged considerably while I was away as he had a couple of bouts of illness, he's lost a massive amount of weight in a few weeks, he has had a few small strokes, and he has a severe heart murmour...other than that list he's just great - sorry, shouldn't be flippant.

He had a small stroke this morning and has been unable to get up all day until this evening when he's up and about pottering again a bit.

Clair that sounds exactly like my old girl Jenna - she will be 16 in February. It's amazing how they come back after these strokes isn't it? Did your vet put him on Vivitonin? Jenna had then for about 18 months, but she started to be wary of eating (they must taste nasty) - and then started losing weight. I told the vet this, and he said to try her for a while without them. She has been without them now for at least 12 months, and has been fine (stroke wise). None now for 2 years. She is so thin now though, and has a white patch appeared in one eye (vet not sure what it is), she wees in her sleep every night now, and is just like an old lady. But, she wags her tail, enjoys the food she eats (especially when she has sardines :x ) skips up the garden sometimes, and seems happy most of the time. Young Smidge gives her hell, but I think she even enjoys that sometimes - you can see her look at him and think "bloody kids!" Hope he is feeling better now

Thanks June :huggles:

We're off to the vet for a family visit this week - Blues vacc, Daisy's heart cough has got worse and to see what they can do for Alf (within vet hours - rather than at weekends and evenings!!)

Because of his heart being so bad too, and he has a growth, he's limited to what he can take for which...but thought a decent daytime, planned trip to the vet will give us more chance to chat over the options, don't get much out of hours conversation wise!!
