im happy with what im doing but just thought i would ask, how much do you give your old dogs? mine are both nearly 10 and ive started slowing them down, they still get about 3 miles a day and seem happy sometimes i give them 48 hours rest if i think they need it, i let them run only if they feel like it, all your views would be interesting to read.. many thanks.

Our bitch Willow is now 12 and a half but it is hard leaving her behind when I am going for a long one - she always wants to come too! She gets a bit shakey around her thighs after an hour or so's walk but is still pretty game for all sorts. Her eyes and ears aren't as good as they were - the other week we were in a huge grass field on the side of a hill round here and there was a pheasant just strutting around right in the middle of the field - well Willow decided game on and sprinted 500metres or more uphill at it - getting quite close before it burst into the air and she thought "uh it's a pheasant!" She was a bit shakey after that!
