Everybody Ok?

It is terrible here....

The flippin roof has ripped right off our 1960s camper (fibre glass thankfully but has left it open to the elements) and is soaked inside... to big to get in garage and OH is on the train going out of the county and guess who have the keys to get inside the camper!!! you got it.... Ian!!! he said not to worry but it is thrashing down and wind is driving mad.

You can tell who owns what as the only thing Ian is concerned about when I rung him was ... the lotus is ok isn't it?

Oh heck, Tanya, I hope all ok with car and yourself :huggles:

Hope everyone else is ok too :huggles:

Blew a hooley with lightening, from about midnight thru until early hours of the morning - all calm now but my garden fence has taken full force and now all I have is a big gap where it used to be :( Done a quick fix for now but have to go and get new fence panels today and mend it PDQ

Other than that, everything else seems to be in the same place

Sorry about your fence Jane, ours is still up at the moment as Rob only just mended it from the other week,so he must of done the job ok :sweating: still its not over yet (w00t)

How you getting on with your fence Jane?

I hope it holds out until this storm passes over.......

Beautiful and sunny in Hereford this morning - I put the washing out, but it wasn't long before the rain came. Just lost power for a few seconds a couple of times this morning, and the wind has got up a bit (could be the curry though :b (w00t) ) It was windy during the night, but not as bad as we expected. I did have visions of the Yew tree coming through the roof, but thankfully it's still standing. I think there is worse yet to come here though - so I'm going out for some shopping now, and then come back and batten down the hatches

Hope everyone else is OK, and sorry to those who have vehicles etc damaged.

So Cornish - the lotus in the poly tunnel - is it a plant or a car?

Tis a car.......

We moved into our new house back in November thinking the double garage was long enough to keep her in (she is a lotus excel) but sadly 2 foot to long.

So Ian has the idea to make a poly tunnel for it.... made out of sheet plastic stuff but with only being half finished it has now blown flat

the wind was awful last night (the weather not me :- " ) i have been awake most the night, lying in bed worrying about the damage it might cause, gypsy was very spooked by it as well.............we are meant to get more high winds later today

its still quite windy outside and peeing down with rain

Posh Totty hope your car hasnt suffered much damage

Sorry to hear about your fence Jane hope its mended soon

Still very windy here but not heard of any serious damage so far

Hope everyone stays safe as they say its going to be worse later :huggles:

Sorry to all you K9'ers who have suffered damage :(

I've just came back from the beach its Mental, the sea is

crashing, the sands blowing all up one end of the sea wall,

the wind is strong enough to whip you round in circles.

The dogs loved it, ran aound like mad things........we kept

well away from the roller coaster, its got several sheets of

metal flapping like mad.....its gonna come of soon. I hope

no-one is about when it does.

I know its going to do damage but it was fun

So sorry to hear about all of you K9ers with bad winds and damage. We have had nothing here in fact this morning we walked around our local park in the sun shine. It has gone abit dark outside now and is threatening rain but we have no wind whatsoever. (Just as I write this I lied Jasper has just proceeded to share his wind :x :x ).

Just rain here in Edinburgh thankfully :) I always feel really sorry for all the wildlife, sheep and cows in the storms, they must be petrified :(

I heard on radio 2 that over the next couple of days it is going to hit the north (w00t)

Not only did our camper and poly tunnel get it but we lost electric at 2:30 and it didn't come on until 7pm so I didn't run and hide, I just got cut off :(

I hope everyone els has weathered the storms ok xxx

Yes , I think we are the lucky ones in Lincolnshire and Norfolk. It isn`t very nice here in Lincoln but nothing like you are getting in the South West and Wales.

LOL @you thinking the lotus was a plant... I have not got green fingers and if it has flowers and is not a cactus I end up killing it within a week.... cars are easier to keep :- "

Ours is a lotus excel  my husbands pride and joy as she is the one he always wanted as a boy.

I think he is giving up on the poly tunnel now... he came home and had a look, went hmmmm with his hands on his hips and then mumbled something about, that being a waste of time last weekend and drove the car out of the drive way

It's still blowing something brave..... at least the rain has stopped for now
