Doris' Diary

Nearly all of my dogs have been bitches and have never bred from any of them and I’ve never noticed any hormonal problems with any of them because they haven’t had puppies ,sorry but really can’t agree with that. There are so many unwanted puppies out there as it is surely it’s being selfish to bring more into the world ? Think of all those puppy farms where bitches are continually pregnant....not beneficial for those poor dogs :(

yeah but i prefer the experience doing it my self...

Think I must have missed what your old career was ? I’m a bit confused ....what did you want as much as you could get? My minds not as quick as it was :D

If you want the true experience of being a good breeder, select a breed and an appropriate puppy, train it up in a breed appropriate sport or in the show ring, fork out for the necessary health checks for your breed, work and work and work until that dog has earned a respectable title and then find yourself a stud dog with the same qualifications...like the good breeders do. ;)

But you asked the question yourself Violet, "should I breed from her" and also stated that you plan to breed from Doris too. These replies are all related to your question "should I breed from her". So what's wrong with some honest comments and replies.

Breeding a rescue dogs puppies is not what makes a responsible breeder. You're planning on breeding a puppy from a dog whose background you know nothing about, if she is a rescue. You don't know what type of health problems are in her background, what type of temperament Olive's lines had, etc.

Breeding - just because one can does not mean one should.

It isn't about you though. It's about the lives of the puppies you are bringing into the world. We were all saddened to read the statistics that arealhuman posted about dogs in rescue. There are enough accidental litters looking for homes that conscientious breeding should involve more than an impulsive desire to breed from a puppy whose heritage in terms of health and temperament is unknown. Any responsible owner, never mind a former vet, should know all the reasons why this is so wrong.

So if i was to get another puppy that is kennel club registered then i can breed her or not? not that i will but I'm asking... (I would rather adopt but i would adore to breed again, personal preference )

Kennel club registration only tells you the genealogy, not the history (or therefore risk) of congenital diseases.

Woof, I'm a little worried I'm having my Microchip put in tomorrow so I'm freeking out! My mum keeps saying its fine but I'm really worried about it. Also can i have dry puppy food yet? i hate the mushed up stuff! well any ways chow fornow! :) wooooooffffff......

Woof,
The microchip really hurt me i screamed and shouted :(. Mum and dad are on holiday so I'm stuck with my mum, she has taught me to get up the stairs but the weird perfume smelling lady keeps telling me off. I haven't attacked anyone so far, i just missed Samson that's all... I have also got a new toy my pink kong toy and she fills it with Peanut Butter and its lovely :). I also keep going out for walks and its cold and windy so my fur goes into my eyes...
Woof, speak to you later bye :)

Woof, I am enjoying life at 3 and a half months old. I have been allowed a lot more things such as; Bones and raw hide yum and long walks :). I am having my Rabies vaccination in June so i can go to Spain for summer (6 weeks), along with my kennel cough as the vets don’t want to make me more fearful of them. My owners have decided to spay me as having me and my siblings was a lot of time and effort. Grrrrr, I haven’t stopped growling though. I now enjoy chewing on frozen tea-towels to chew on as my back teeth hurt. Is there anything my owner can do to help me with my teeth? This picture is of me in my crate chewing on my bone.

4th May 2018

Woof, today mum bathed me! I am not happy :(. Mum also bathed Olive as we both stunk, we have been having lots of walks near the farm and we smell like horses… I also love the taste of the horse muck :). I will be feeling sorry for myself for a long time as I love the cuddles mum gives me. Mum has been having a look at dog training classes for me at the Dogs Trust, I am not very good at walking on the lead, and I pull way too hard. Well the weather looks like it’s looking up this weekend very sunny. Have a good weekend :)
