I think the brindle whippet running is my dog's cousin Micky? they have similar colouring but I think that looks like Micky's basket muzzle

learned by our mistakes but when ur green to things this is the mistakes you make getting a bit of advice from a good friend now so hopfully we will come on a bit
 great Idea Billy means the dogs arnt standing about all day in the heat and should be bit fresher to race , some times when you do the showing ,and standing to wait to show its as if the dogs already run a race !!!billyboy45 said:Just want to say on here that we are doin the racing 1st this year, just to see how it work's out.I recon more will take part that way,and we'll have plenty of spectator's,instead of just having the racer's left in the field.I think it might also be a good advert for anyone who does'nt know anything about racing, and may just draw a few more into our sport.Might keep the final's till the end of the day though,so long as everyone is happy with that.We aim to please,so any idea's will be welcomed. ...Billy...
billys idea sounds good ian because at the end of the day you need the ones who are showing mate to help make a good turn out not just 20 or 30 dogs ther to raceShadow-Hunter said::thumbsup: great Idea Billy means the dogs arnt standing about all day in the heat and should be bit fresher to race , some times when you do the showing ,and standing to wait to show its as if the dogs already run a race !!!billyboy45 said:Just want to say on here that we are doin the racing 1st this year, just to see how it work's out.I recon more will take part that way,and we'll have plenty of spectator's,instead of just having the racer's left in the field.I think it might also be a good advert for anyone who does'nt know anything about racing, and may just draw a few more into our sport.Might keep the final's till the end of the day though,so long as everyone is happy with that.We aim to please,so any idea's will be welcomed. ...Billy...

In all the year's that i did race,i have been asking for the racing to be held first.Only to be put in my place,by those who were running the thing.Ive seen dog's collapse, after standing ,or lying about in temperature's around the 30s,for hour's and hours.Ive gone home day's,without racing, while other stupid ,(well i wont say what i would call them)ran their dog's,and had them collapse.Ive whitnessed dog's actualy die, while cooking in the trailor's,as the show, went on,n on,n on.It was me who wanted the muzzle's brought in years ago,and was told that if i did'nt want my dog ripped, then dont race.Because of no muzzle's,ive seen dog's have their windpipe tore out,at the end of a race.this dog had just won the all ireland racing final, overs, and belonged to a bloke called Mick Moore.Dog had to be destroyed,a day or two later.I was branded a trouble maker, for wanting a bit of safety in our sport,at the time.It was only after i quit, that summit happened to change their mind's about muzzle's.(I can remember summit about someone being bitten,as they were catching a dog for someone).I recon the dog's are too knackered to put up a true run,if they're standing,or lying about in fierce heat, for 4 or 5 hour's.I remember my Snipe dog pissing stuff like Guiness, and rushiung him home to the vet's,who said his kidney's might never be right again, cause they were litteraly cooking, inside him.If id have raced him that day,he would'nt have made it to the line, never mind home.So let's change all that for the better,by racing first, when the dog's are fit to race. ...Billy...dazgail said:Billy, if you view the posts and comments on the thread "racing or showing first" practically everyone who has posted or commented in favour that completing the racing before the showing is the way forward.
