Does your dogs' name have a significant meaning?

I had this Spanish word in my mind which I love but has a bad meaning, Cabro.

But luckily, Our Bampi`s name comes from the cartoon called Noddy, my daughter insisted too much we could not resist. Do not have any idea if it has any meaningful meaning though :))

It means goat - you could have used it, even in Spain, without offending anyone! :D

We used to day that we d never take the dog to Spain if we would go for some holiday if we named him Cabro. :) good, now i know i can take him :) i am changing his name..
 
My baby's name is "The Witch". I didn't make up the name, my boyfriend, but I think he hit the spot. On the one hand, the name fits the character perfectly, and on the other hand, I like such witcher-wizarding atmosphere, so having a Witch dog, I think that we have an additional magic bond
 
Kinda... called my first adopt Ruigoord which is the place I found her when she was looking for shelter. Two years later I found the rightfull owner who was in a bad place that time and she her reall name was Whiskey. Our first pup was called Peanut cause I wanted also a second and the other one was gonne be called butter :p But yeah Peanut was a handfull so Butter never came. This one is called Botty, his name was Rocky but he is so social. He does has to learn everything again so one letter difference? Is really making a difference and he is a big boy lol. So therefor Botty.
 
Snoopy isn't a beagle but he is white and about the right size with floppy black ears.
 
Because I chose the dog, my partner got to choose her name..he is mad into Formula 1 so he picked Kimi after Kimi Rikkonen (thats definitely spelt wrong)

It was weird telling people that my female dog was named after an F1 driver. So I looked it up and it turns out that it also means 'she who is without equal' in Japanese. I like that a lot more!
 
And when it comes to eating cheese...there is no equal!!

She was supposed to be a working dog we think. We take her out to the mountains and lochs for walks...turns out, our little working dog is terrified of sheep, horses and ducks.

She heard a sheep go baahh and jumped into my fiances arms before he had a chance to blink.

Thank god we dont live on a farm!!

“Cabro” is a male goat but does may also have a politically/socially insensitive connotation. There may be confusion with the word “cabrón” which means cuckold which, when I was a student in Madrid, caused great offence to males. Playing bullfights with cars by casting one’s jacket (cape) infront of a car caused mayhem ‘cos you were insinuating that the driver’s wife had put the horns on him. Not that I would ever assert that.

A Finnish name...good choice! ;) We've got 4 with Finnish names; Iida, Eva, Ella & Aila ...well, not strictly Finnish as Eva and Ella are quite internationally used as well. But as I originate from Finland, I felt I needed to pick names that are easy to English and Finnish tongues.

I have always loved the 'ah' sound at the end of names, thus my pets were:
Zimba
Hustler
Tabya
Keisha
Kimba
Bima
Nala

Also, I consider what they will sound like when I'm yelling them in a park. And also, what they would sound like when used together, when I'm yelling in a park.

Additionally, Zimba was a Ridgeback - Simba means lion in Swahili. Ridgebacks are originally from Zim-babwe, hence....

Hustler was a Rottie and my first dog. I was new to dogs so was constantly hustling after him to catch him before he pee'd, hence Hustler :)
