Does your dog fake things?

I just got upto make a cup of tea and whilst I was in the utility I called Dennis out for his last night wee’s.

His little eagle eyes spotted me get the milk out and he presumed he was getting some (This only happens sometimes for some reason)

So I told him ‘no, you’re not having any tonight. Go for a wee’

Off he goes for a wee...

I look up and he’s staring at me. Faking it!

I repeat ‘go and do your wee wee’s’

Off he trots...

So I spy on him and watch him fake his wee wee and try and head back in!!

All because he thinks he’s getting some milk!

Does anyone else’s dog do anything like this?

A friend of my mum and dad had a spaniel and they were out walking one day when they met another dog who they were fussing over and talking to the owner, when Beccy(their spaniel) suddenly started limping around them, the other dog went off with his owner and Beccy limped so bad that her owner carried her for the rest of the walk,really worried, they stopped at the park cafe for a quick break, before getting to the car and probably vets, and put Beccy down, off she wandered,no limp saying hello to everyone, happy as larry! Did she put on the limp?...

Also, our ferrets do that pretend to have a wee thing before we get them out,jump in the litter tray...look like you're weeing...jump out...but you can see they've done nothing! Sorry, not dog related but still fakers

Jasper was once asking for an apple core next to where I was sitting, but I said he couldn't have it. He went to the back door and barked to go out, then the moment I got to the door he belted back to where I'd been sitting and swiped the apple core!

Murphy asks to be let out whining and running in circles like hes about to poo his pants but once hes outside its just bark at the neighbours and mooch about time.

My old beagle Benny was a master of fakery... pretending to be walking past but in reality eyeing you cake/biscuit/sandwich and snatching it as he moved (so quick you never saw it go) he would also develop a limp when he decided it was time to go home.
If it was raining he would fake being in a deep sleep to try to avoid a walk .. even if you prodded him he would give a little snore a mini yawn and refuse to open his eyes.

A dog I walk wees on every lamppost bush anything as when he was a puppy the owner kept giving him treats after having a wee so he now fakes a wee just for treats you can see it's fake as there is no wee. When I started to walk him I thaught he had a bladder problem.

Misty often fakes being asleep. When I’ve been upstairs for a while I come down and see her quickly close her eyes and pretend she’s asleep because she’s been so neglected for ten minutes

Often when I make a sandwich I will give Jess a treat sometimes in a interactive toy or a chew, she will disappear with it then just as I sit down for my sandwich she sits in front of me giving me those sad eyes..I ask her "where's yours?"
She sits there like she doesn't know what I mean (pretending I didn't give her anything!) so she'll end up having a bit of what I'm having if appropriate, after which she disappears and reappears with her chew or toy still intact!

Yes! My ex's jack russell x pug used to do this!
When toilet training her obviously we used to treat her every time she had a wee, she used to fake her wees just to get a treat! I used to crouch down and watch, there was no wee! Particularly obvious when she did it on the garden path and left no wet patch! Hahaha!
