Haha, I will see how she is in water after her jabs!! We had our first trip to the vets today, she was a little whiney in the car there, but she got so much cooing from the nurses she was on top form when we were waiting.
She really didn't like the slippery vet table but she was transfixed with a old boy dog waddling around the waiting area, she was desperate to play, felt bad keeping her on lap. Took her in one of those dog bags with head out, well head and front paws, she's a big lump, 8 weeks and 8kg! It'll last all of another week I reckon until she's far too big, but it will have done the job at keeping her safe before jabs kick in. She squishes into it in the living room and knaws away at the lining, but at least its at the bag and not anything else.
Last night was the first night we've not had a whine at 5am, hubby and I both get up at 6am anyway as he commutes, she's there wagging her tail when I open the kitchen door, pleased as punch when I stepped straight into a little puddle. Good morning Poppy.
Saying all of that, she's been on the planet all of 8 weeks and only 3 and a bit days with us, so I'll forgive her just now.
Thinking of closing crate door tonight, up til now she is in secure kitchen with crate open, paper in a corner (dry as a bone, naturally) - we thought we could try to get her dry at night but would this be too soon? She's already learnt SIT and PAW, maybe she'll clock on to holding it in? Spoke to breeder and Poppy's brother Remy has been going in to his crate to pee, with owner coming down every 2 hours at night, they've had dobes before but not from pups, I feel quietly smug she (and us!) Are doing ok!
