We recently visited one of our charity partners Last Chance Animal Rescue, some of the dogs there almost reduced us to tears so friendly and an amazing team. Just wondering did you buy or adopt and what helped you make that decision?

This is a lovely rescue centre. We visited about 14 years ago and fell in love with all of them. There was a particular staff pup bitch that I wanted and even my ‘you’re not having another one ‘ husband fell in love with her too. So we equired and when they found out we already had a bitch they refused to let us have the pup, saying that their policy is to not rehome bitches with bitches. I don’t know if their policy is still the same but that little pup missed out on a wonderful, active, loving home with a lovely gentle dog :(

We adopted our greyhound/ saluki lurcher 1and a half years ago, mainly to help our teenaged daughter who was going through a tough time. It hasn't always been easy but we adore him! Celia Cross rescue (Guildford, Surrey) were brilliant at matching us to Sparky and, although it took a little time to mutually adjust, it's one if the best decisions we have ever made. Ok, he's not great around horses and we have to be careful where we walk him, but he is such a lovely boy!

One dog was adopted out of state and transported to where I live, one was a "rehome" that ended up being a sketchy breeding situation, and two were from breeders. It really just depends on what I'm looking for at the time.

Currently waiting on our 2 rescue pups to fly from Cyprus. Used rescues for our other pets (not dogs) so was the natural route for us. I had been following this rescue on Facebook for a while before it was ever dreamt we’d adopt. Wish us luck!
