I am just reading Dogs Today magazine and it seems that he has managed to find a company to sponsor a tour over here.

If I had been prosecuted for animal cruelty then I would not be allowed in to the States.

Makes me so mad that he can still spout his out dated methods and get away with it.

Mind you he will be closely monitored by our doggy press I should imagine. Don't suppose he will grant another interview after the way Alan Titchmarsh wiped the floor with him last time.

That was an amazing interview! It saddens me that people don't realise just how brutal he is because they genuinely don't understand. I did hear he had modified his methods but have no idea whether that's true or by how much.

I just think at times lots on here are softy softy moaning do gooders at times, he mainly deals with problem dogs and gets lots of results and I for one ain't got a problem with him, I've seen dog classes and to be honest it's pish poor, but hey each to there own I suppose.

If I slapped someone every time they opened their mouth to speak they would learn to stay quiet. When at work, I do what I do for pay (reward) not because I fear being hurt physically if I fail to do what I am asked. That's why Cesar Millan has been investigated for cruelty, banned in Germany and prosecuted in the USA. And if I ever felt the need to hold a dog up in the air by it's choke chain until it passed out and involuntarily urinated, I would never show face again in public, never mind sell myself as a trainer.

Using people power is the only way, and for that to be successful it should be directed at the company sponsoring him, if they became sure that it would reduce their sales they would quickly stop. As I don't read Dogs Today I for one do not know who they are.

He will draw the crowds. That being so someone will sponsor him. His, heavily edited, video footage is shown on National Geographic. They quickly pull any bits of video that slip through the net and, rightly, cause outrage when people realise how he achieves his results.

I just thought that, after being humiliated by Alan Titchmarsh, he would never dare come back here. Just goes to show the lure of the dollar signs :(

I don't condone him chocking a dog but I do different methods to mine as in what happens at at the time, quick, semi hard, with results I'm happy with and never lost respect from my dogs,

I went to a dog class withy last lurcher and walked out after 10 mins as I thought it a comedy class.

Not sure that ten minutes was enough time to judge how effective the training methods are? I always advise going to check out classes without your dog. Sit and observe the dogs and how happy they are to be there. Happy dogs learn. That is why you are there. For your dog to learn. Dogs cannot learn if they are anxious. It is best not to judge the class just by results as that is influenced by the effort the owner puts in! Overall, however, if the owners follow the reward based methods, there should be improvements in the dog's behaviour.

I once helped the dog warden, in our local area, to run a Kennel Club Bronze award class. Unknown to me he used Cesar Milan type methods and I only stuck it out for two weeks. I took one half of the class, using reward based methods and he took the other half using his methods. By week two he had lost half his class. All of my class all turned up again as their dogs had improved in only one week of using reward based methods.

Unfortunately, I could not bear to watch him push a nervous GSD to the floor when it did not lie down when told. It had no idea what he was talking about! Goodness knows what that dog thought about men after its encounter with him :(

Gypsymum2, I can totally agree with you, I train my dogs not for any completion just cause I enjoy doing things with them and if they were not happy then I wouldn't be so we would stop. I can remember my Dad, must be about 60 yrs ago, saying, 'Dogs want to please us so when they do what we want make sure they know your pleased, when they do something you don't like ignore them for a short time' And I still use the same basic system now.

More people like your dad needed in this world Biker John! :)

My old dad's saying still rings in my ears "Leave the dog alone!" I wan't to make a poster out of it and give it to every parent in the land. It might save a few children from getting bitten. He taught me to respect a dog as a living creature and not treat him as a toy for me to play with.

I'm new to dogs (and this forum) but I'm shocked and appalled to hear about the actions of this monster. I knew he was a controversial person, but, my god... I'm speechless.
