Was asked by the local primary school how to go about holding a fund raiser dog show.

I think I am right in saying that you need permission from the KC for a companion show but are there any set rules about a fun show?

Also who is eligible to judge?

I guess a fun show it can be anybody? (Somebody far away from the village would be good)

Thanks

Rosie

Not sure for just a fun show but

yes , you do need a KC licence for ped classes , not sure how much they are now , plus theywould let you know what classes you can have , the `fun ` classes can be any thing , but the ped ones I think are;

Sporting ,non sporting, Puppy 6-12 months, Open and Vet . I think Im rightin that ANYONE can be the judge

You should allow at least a couple of months from applying to the actual date for the show

Thanks for the info I'll pass it on.

They are aiming at an indoor Xmas do. Raising money for kids after school club.

Hope they get on OK :luck:

Hi Rosie

You will need to apply for a licence from the Kennel Club at least 42 days before the proposed show date, cost is £10 and you will need to send a copy of the schedule with your application letter and cheque.

A few years ago the rules changed for the pedigree classes to enable a much wider selection - details are in the KC year book and on their website.

Hope this helps :thumbsup:

Thank you so much.

Gives the secretary something to go on.

I'm told the children are very enthusiastic. Hope they all win something :D
