Another warm day at Shuttington, but again we had a breeze blowing in from the South West, which helped keep us all a bit cooler - very pleasant for racing and relaxing.
As usual, there was plenty of tea to keep us going and we did manage to run the dogs between mashing fresh brews.
We ran adjusted handicaps today - I started each runner on a handicapped position based on the past few weeks results and then in each round, the slower dogs got even more of a start than in the previous race. All in all this led to some close finishes, but the good dogs still were difficult to beat! Just for added spice, the dogs were paired off, with their individual scores being counted together.
So how did it end.
First overal was Devil's Gift and Just Flute with 21 points
Second was Monkey Buisness and Squizzel with 17 points
Third was Call Me Crystal and Exhibit with 16 points.
Unfortnately Squizzel had to with draw from the last round which was a shame as we looked to have an exciting race with close handicaping between her and Devil's Gift. Still there's always another day.
Just a reminder - 23 Jul will be the last week at Shuttington until the begining of September and on 30July we will all be at Shustoke, near Coleshill. Make sure you call Anne if you would like to come along for what is always a very enjoyable day (Agricutural Show - with some Whippit Racing thrown in for good measure).
