Hi Vicky, me, Gary, kids & dogs all came last night for the first time, we all enjoyed it very much & the dogs ran well to :D

Hi friends at Astley & Tyldesley

I am sending two dear friends to your club either this Wednesday or next. June has just lost her beloved whippet and she was the last in line and June and Steve, her husband, has had whippets for over 40 years. She would dearly love another one, just to love, not particularly race, but who knows. June has a liking for parti colour pedigree whippets but above all know needs whippet friends to talk to. They come from Crewe.

23rd June 2004

Not a great turn out tonight due to the weather but it was a great atmosphere & we all had a good laugh. Thanks to Tony for parking his passion wagon behind me (god that sounds rude!!! :b ) and keeping me nice & dry whilst everyone else was wet through :D . Our visitor from Kiev looked very impressed (maybe not so much with the weather though) & even talked about taking a few whipsters back with him.

The track seemed very fast tonight - maybe the whippets were trying to get back into the warmth of their cars as fast as they could? Lacey & Talula on the other hand could have swanned around the field all night with THOSE COATS on!! :D

All times back to scratch

Ht 1, The scratch trap was slow opening but i don't think it would have made any difference to the outcome with Lacey Lastic bombing up the field in front of Supercrack in 2nd & This Way way behind, in a time of 8.51 (w00t)

Sadly lacey aggravated an old injury so was wisely withdrawn from the final, the other racers agreed to run off again so that someone else could go into the final with Supercrack going over the line the winner from Keiths This Way (who i believe has now retired) in a time of 8.70

Ht 2, Whinny Skippet won by 2/3 yds from John's Photo Finish in a time of 8.76

Ht 3, Blue Magic hung onto her start from in 2nd Slipstream Sadie in another good time of 9.00

Ht 4, Misty won easily from Barney & Daisy 9.66

Ht 5, Dove won from kennel mate Ben in 2nd 9.87

Final,

Whinney Skippet looked to have trapped well & seemed to catch Supercrack 3/4 up the track but Supercrack finished well to only just hang on in a cracking race in a time of 8.66

Ped Final,

Misty got this one from Terry's Dove n/t

Consolation

Ht 1, Photo Finish hung onto his start from Betty's Blue in 2nd & Poker in 3rd in a time of 9.11

Ht 2, The other owners agreed to let Blind Spot run in this one to get him used to passing & this he did with ease to win in a time of 9.70
