Dear Rachel & Jo

I'm so very sorry for your loss. When the phone went first thing this morning I was so hoping it was good news, but sadly not. I cannot imagine how much pain you must be feeling losing your precious Rowan in such tragic circumstances and so very young. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Im so deeply sorry my htoughts are with you all at this sad time, god bless you Rowan, sleep softly little one x x x

Both Rachel and I are genuinely touched by all the heartfelt messages we've had about our beautiful Rowan. We will reply to the emails, pm's etc over the coming days.

At the moment we feel completely shell shocked, when it comes as a sudden accident it feels very very hard to bear and to take in. I didn't realise it would hurt so much.

This evening i have had to tell my 5 year old son (he was at his dads house last night) which was another traumatic experience to say the least. Conor has said he is going to take special care of Ruby now because she must be so sad that her baby has died - that was heart breaking but lovely of him to think of.

Rowan was everything we had hoped from and more. She was a beautiful Whippet who we'd had fun with in the show ring, but most importantly she was a fantastic girl to have at home. She was sweet, loving and full of fun.

Thank you everyone, your support means so much x

Jo, Rachel and family, I was hoping to see good news but am so shocked, can only imagine what you all must be going through.

Just to let you know we're all thinking of you and your other whippets , they must be forlorn, all our love, Julie D xxxxx

oh my god what a nightmare so very sorry there no bright side to this but at least it was quick and you know what happend to her and are not left with not knowing if your dad had not found her. think of you all xxx wendy

Jo, i can only echo what everyone else has said already :(

So very very sad.

RIP Rowan

Heartbreaking. I'm so sorry.

It's unfortunately a thing I've heard of happening before and both Vicky and Tony have had similar experiences (one dog getting a fractured skull) but their dogs have been lucky. What I'm sort of saying is there was nothing you could of done to prevent it. These dogs love to run and feel the wind through their ears and that's the way they should be living their lives. Rowan had a happy fulfilling life even if it was cut short and that's the best thing any owner can offer their dog.

Rest In Peace Rowan. :huggles:

I've only just noticed this as i don't come on K9 much these days, my heart goes out to you and Rachel. If there is anything i can do anything at all please don't hesitate to get in touch,

So sorry to hear about this. It is the second such accident involving a whippet that I have heard about in the last few days.

As others have said this was just a tragic accident and there was nothing you could do that would prevent it. Rowan died doing what she loved to do running and playing with her friends. As you yourself have said the only consalation beng that it was quick and she wouldn't have suffered in any way.

Hugs to you, Rachel Connor and the rest of you families
