Changing Tastes!

Does anyone else find their dog's tastes change as they age?
Roxy never used to like raw carrot, she'd eat it cooked but would refuse it if it was even a little bit undercooked for her liking, or she'd chew it up and then spit it out.
Then when I was making her birthday muffins a while ago (no shame here!) I used grated raw carrot and thought let's see if she'll eat the leftover gratings I have, and she actually did I was shocked! She now loves a bit of raw carrot with her breakfast/as a treat, I thought maybe she'd only eat it grated but she does have it chopped (luckily no need to grate it every time!). I'm quite happy about this, anything fresh she'll eat that I don't have to cook is a bonus, plus great for her teeth!

Jasper's tastes have changed, but in the other direction - when he was a pup/adolescent he would eat rotting windfall apples, acorns and dog poo. He'd often find apples presumably ejected from a schoolchild's lunchbox on our walks and have them too. Now he's not interested in acorns (thank goodness, as they're meant to be poisonous), and though he might snaffle an apple core at teatime, usually he'll turn his nose up at it.

I hope Timber develops a liking for carrot, but sadly I suspect he won't.

Mabel will leave carrot pieces in her complete raw meals until she’s finished the meat. She used to be fine with coley fish but now will not touch it. If she’s offered a piece of broccoli when we’re eating dinner (not my idea to offer her food from the table I hasten to add) she’ll take it gently and then drop it in the hall - perhaps she doesn’t want to hurt our feelings. She’ll neither eat crab nor lobster for which I’m grateful. She finds rabbit poo something of a delicacy if we’re not watching her.

Yes, I have noticed the age related change of taste before...this Yorkie I had, he HATED peas and no matter what kind of 'mush' his food would be, he would still find the hidden peas in it and spit them out onto floor next to his dish. The food would get eaten leaving polished dish and scatter of peas around it. When he got older he would sit with me on allotment and we would shell the peas out of pods...he had his pods of peas to eat and I would have mine (he would do that indoors as well) and it was his best treat ever!
This current lot of dogs we have seem to have 'flavour of the month' kind of food habits and you cannot persuade them to eat something when their mind is set to not to 'like' it..but come next month and they develop HUNGER for it The difficult thing is to find out what those particular things are and which way their taste buds work at that given month. 'Little bleeders'...

@Finsky Awwww I love that about the peas that's so funny...strange how they change their preferences. I can't imagine my girl having such a bizarre like it one time then refuse it another way of eating , generally she'll eat...or inhale ... anything I put in front of her, I have a greedy one.

Not particularly - he just has never especially liked carrot. He loves cooked veg though.

I knew there was something else I recently found out about Roxy, nothing to do with food but she loves footballs.
She saw OH playing with one in the garden and went for it, she'd never done this before....so she now has her own football
