Here is Billy, 10 weeks old, a bundle of mischief. Looks like butter wouldn't melt, right? Wrong! I remember well his first night (I'll never forget it lol) Bear in mind this is the first puppy I have bought in since 1988 and although I knew that they can be a bit upset and bewildered I wasn't prepared for the screams that this little bundle would produce! I thought I knew what the standard procedure was - ignore him, yes? Giving in can only encourage him to repeat it any time he wants something I thought. Sleeping in my room on a bed to die for - if it was bigger I'd prefer it to my own - it started as a wimper, then gradually increased in volume until it was a roar - I kid you not, I have NEVER heard such a noise coming from a puppy. It actually drew a response from Lisa, my 12 year old who was asleep under the duvet, when he paused for breath, she then did her own howl that more or less mimic'd Billy's. It was like listening to a howling conversation, and of course I had to give in and bring him to bed with me. You knew that didn't you?
Anyway he has settled down now - yes, in my bed permanently!!! But he is an absolute treasure, although very strong willed. He knows his name but doesn't come when called - unless he is VERY sure there is a treat involved! He has learned the ins and outs of the dog flap - just not when to use them yet! Here are 4 piccies taken a couple of weeks ago.
