Dens back legs have in the last few weeks become so weak.
It’s so awful seeing him struggle to get up :-(
He tried to get up the stairs when we weren’t behind him offering support and he fell down them. It was so awful (he was ok)

He’s on Yumove but does anyone else have any recommendations?

Sorry to hear this, Josie :-( I noticed the other day that you can get Yumove Senior - if he's not on that one, maybe give it a try?

What about hydrotherapy to try to improve his muscle strength?

Thank you - it’s so sad. He’s still very up and down with his eating. I’ve just ordered him some food from Lily’s kitchen to try!

Bet you’ve tried just about every food going ;) hope he’ll eat Lily’s kitchen, gets good reviews so fingers crossed. Have you spoken to your vet re Dens legs? x

And from me too. Such a difficult time for you.

Sending hugs too, it is so tough when our dogs get older:(...x

Thank you everyone.

it really breaks my heart to see him so unsteady on them :-(
I don’t think it helps that he isn’t great at eating these days. Hopefully I can mix Lilly’s kitchen (which looks tastier than his food) with his special diet and it will encourage him to eat: I’ve gone with game meats which are meant to be better for him so we shall see what happens!

My thoughts are with you Josie. I am not looking forward to seeing our lab when she is at your dogs stage as surely she will. I hope that he doesn't hurt too much.

Thanks everyone - they’re much better today after some rest but still very wobbly.

He is not impressed with the barrier stopping him going upstairs :emoji_face_palm:

Remind me, is he on any supplements or alternative therapies?

Bad morning for us... Den didn’t make it to the garden and did a poo in the kitchen but managed to walk through it all and get it all over himself.

I feel so sad how quickly his back legs have let him down. It doesn’t help that he has no appetite and it’s hot.

I keep going through so many things in my mind. Is it time? But he’s only 12 1/2? Is he happy? Does he just need some rest? Am I being cruel? Or am I being to hasty in thinking this is the time?

I don’t think his IBD journey has helped, it’s aged him a lot.

sorry rambling on.

So sorry Josie,It was the hardest decision we had to make as a family when it was time to allow our dog in a million Travis go,looking back I think we should of made the decision earlier
