At my wits end!

BTW, are you sleeping with him on the sofa at night? If so, that might not help either of you sleep. Would you be able to separate yourself from him more (e.g. in another room downstairs if you don't want to have to be going up & downstairs a few times a night)? Or would he then be more unsettled?

I do go to bed properly initially but settle on the sofa after he has gone out. We live in a small 1 bed flat so hard to distance myself from him. He seems more settled when I am next to him in the sofa - doesn’t appear to be the same in bed.

I'd say do whatever works for now. Time enough to fine-tune your arrangements once he is feeling better. When we are feeling rotten, we too can get a bit clingy!

Freddie had a better night last night. On new pre/pro biotics, more gastro food and a gut protectant. Still woke up but settled down again after a cuddle. Fingers crossed this is the begining of the end (for now anyway)

Thanks - that’s what I thought. To be fair it’s only been 2 days since his last illness which was the 3rd bout in the last 3 weeks so guess I just need to give him time to recover and hope it stops.
I really feel for you. I have had the same night time dilemma with my pup who is coming up 2. I have already spent quite a lot at the vets and seem to spend my life escorting him to the toilet in the wee hours and cooking up bland diets. It can get you down but as others say, dogs live in the moment so I try to be positive for his sake.
