A woman has asked me to board 2 of her yorkshire terriers for 4 nights. I've always thought of them as quite yappy dogs. Does anyone have any knowledge of them or any advice? looking after them end of April. Both girls. One is 8 yrs, one 2 years.

It depends how they are brought up. If the owners have responded to their yapping then they will be yappy. Also if they are poorly socialised and nervous they may yap more.

Many of the toy breeds do not get socialised at the right time because they are so tiny that the owners do not take them out and about enouhg. If they do take them out they tend to carry them. Then when they do get put on the ground the world is very scary down there!

Got two next door to me, they get put out the back and left to bark so they are barkers, for me I'd av put the boot up there arse if they opened up when pups lol, in my life I've never had a barker as I have respect for neighbours, don't get me wrong they are nice dogs next to me but they do my head in with the zapping.

Thanks. According to the owner the youngest is 2 loves other dogs and pretty outgoing. The other 8 years is more reserved. Likes her own space. She suffers from dry eye and wants me to give her drops a few times a day. She said she's good at having them though. It's just for 4 night's so I am going to reduce my dog walking schedule for those days. She did say they bark like hell if someone comes to the door which will probably make me a bit on edge.

You will be ok, I don't mind a dog barking when a knock on door it's just constant barking at fresh air that does my head in, best ov luck .

Yes. I know a lot of dogs bark when someone outside. Hopefully be ok. They are visiting tomorrow.
