Just another attack ---poor old chap who i re-homed a little bitch with was out walking when a Staffordshire Bull Terrier attacked it --the whippet was on its lead the Culprit was with a six year old child --police don't want to know passed it on to dog warden --disgraceful- poor old chap has vet bill for two hundred pounds to pay then try through small claims to reclaim his money and at 77 years old even though fit he can well do without this--he was up all night with his whippet and is heartbroken just looking at the damage although it could have been much worse---

time for owners of such animals to require a license to keep one is my opinion--

very sorry 2 hear this, wot on earth was a dog like that doing with a 6 year old child? some people just are not there in the head! :rant: hope the whippet makes a full recovery, tell the guy 2 start taking a walking stick with him & not to be afraid 2 use it!
 
ive got a staffy she soft as clarts but she looks after poppy like her own
 
i hope the dogs ok it must be a shock to the owner,get well soon little 1
 
i struggle to believe these bloody dogs are soft. no offence pointed at you decca as im sure youre dogs fine but i wouldnt trust one terrier as far as i could stick my toe up its owners hole ! terriers are terriers born to do a job...and with gusto too !

ive a friend who shows probably the best staffs in the country and even he wouldnt trust his own. dogs with kids 100 and other dogs 100% infact another guy who had one of his pups had to get it pts at 4years old as one morning outve no where it cornered his wife !! and this was a dog "who wouldnt hurt a flea and is great with kids ..."

sorry muzzled full time if it was up to me

so sorry this has happened :( tbh i get fed up of reading about attacks on whippets on this site. :( its getting to be a normal occurance these days. :angry: what kind of moron lets a 6 year old child take any dog out for a walk anyway? :angry:

if the old guy needs any help with vets bills let our jac (wild whippies)know and ill send some money to help him out :thumbsup:

bet the poor fella is really shook up :(
 
i think every dog on this gods earth should be muzzled in public... :rant: and ive got six dogs of my own.. a simple solution to a very bad problem.. i walk all six dogs together and they are as good as gold.. but there is always someone elses dog off the lead coming round us and i tell u this, it scares me shitless. if they was all muzzled it wouldnt bother me.. including my own. :rant:

and... you got me going now.... i think every dog that goes to a dog show should be muzzled. when the dogs are racing all muzzled up theres always a dog breakin loose without a muzzle and that scares me shitless too. :rant: :rant: :rant:
 
That's awful :( Hope the poor wee girl recovers quickly. The old man must have got a terrible fright , bless him :huggles:

The GSD which attacked Izzy has recently attacked another dog causing a bad injury, the stupid owner is still trying to "socialise" it off lead in a popular place where dog walkers and kids go :rant:
 
It makes my blood run cold to read things like this. What is wrong with these people!

The other day 2 kids came past me walking a rottweiler - it's head was almost level with the shoulder of the kid holding the lead.

Our best wishes to the poor little whippet , hoping she makes a fast and full recovery, also to her owner.

We have two big staffy boys who live with our whippets, soft clowns just like Deccas. The eldest is nanny to our 8 week old grand daughter and never leaves her side unless there is no adult in the room. The younger one plays all day with Kens 3 month old whippet and keeps him out of trouble. All dogs should wear a muzzle when out walking no matter what the breed. It would save so much heart ach.

We had a huge vet bill when our staffy was attacked and would not fight back.
 
Dog warden has been to see the old chap and told him to keep all his bills safe they say the will go for a prosecution if the other party fefuses to pay up--

as it is illegal to allow children bellow a certain age to be responsible for a dog out on a street--

more checks on background ect to be done first then they hope they can convince the other owners it will be in their interests to pay ---

We all have heard ducks farting under water before --haven't we ????!!!!!

I think they have more chance of biting their own backsides than this being a possibility---hope to be proved wrong but i wont hold my breath -----

Thank you all for your offers of help ---concern /comments--the old chap is a bit happier now his pal is home and vets have been very understanding allowing him time to pay-his family say that they will sort it for him---

but he could himself was he not so upset--

local city councilor is now on the case for him-- she is like a Staffie herself-with regards to her area--treatment of senior citizens--their right to be heard ect----

so we could see a satisfactory end to this incident ---

well you never know,let a local councillor get the bit between theior teeth and who knows what might happen :thumbsup: .i hope the morons who let a 6 year old child walk this dog are made to cough up and pay the vets bill. :angry:

send my good wishes to this gentleman for the quick recovery of his poor dog :luck: :luck: :luck: and im glad the family will help him out with the bills but at the end of the day the person who owns this dog must be made to pay up,its their responsibility.let us know what happens ;)

Its not a walking stick he want's,it's a whacking stick. Or better still,what i take out with me,(when im going a certain route with the dog's),an iron bar.Hope the wee might makes a full and speedy recovery.Does the bull terrier not come under the dangerous dog'e act,and therefore require no one under the age of 18 to be with it ay all times when out walking.
 
I hope the whippet makes a full recovery. Who would let a six year old out on their own anyway, regardless!! Ridiculous. Clearly as good parents as they are dog owners.

 

We have lurchers and a big staffy and the staff is by far the softest of our dogs. He's been attacked numerours times by various breeds of dog out on walks but he doesn't retaliate.

 

I think its important we don't victimise certain breeds - adding to the already negative press they have. They make just as good dogs as any other breed with the correct upbringing and training.

*I'm sure you're right but unfortunately 'correct upbringing and training' isn't sold alongside these pups.

I agree, our staffs are really soft, and have been attacked. It has nothing to do with the breed its bad owners. We cant evan take our staffs to a race meeting because the whippets go for them. Out of all breed of dog I would choose a staff for a loyal loving pet
