Advice needed

Looking for advice on my dog whippets tale, he losses hair in the middle of it, not sore red or itchy. his been to the vets nothing wrong with him no mites, skin conditions ect. Been told its just a whippet thing? Has anyone had anything they've put on the tail that resulting in quick hair regrowth? Creams ect?

It sounds like perhaps something I have read about in mainly male dogs, not just whippets - stud tail or supracaudal tail. Is it a little oily, and located about a third of the way between the base and the tip?

I'm not sure if creams etc are likely to work (unless it's also infected), I think it's a hormonal thing.

Not oily its dry, Yes it is. I have heard about it but was wanting to try to see if i could get the hair back a bit faster, Thank you for that tho
