Hi,

I have a 10 week old bedlington terrier and I'm not sure if she is drinking enough water.

She won't drink the fresh water I give her in a metal bowl but will pop out the garden to have a small amount of rain water (I hope this is safe)

She was off her food for the first week here which is understandable. She now is eating about 100g of burns puppy mini with a very small amount of wet to keep her interested. I believe this is about right?

She is very lively and chews anything she can get near (we are working on this) above all she seems quite happy.

Any advice would be much apriciated

I wouldn't worry too much she is probably drinking more than you think. Dogs have specific taste buds for water so can be quite sensitive to variations and she may have been used to a different water taste when she was with the breeder so is just getting used to your tap water. Rainwater will certainly not do her any harm as long as it's not stagnant. If she is eating well and is lively and going to the toilet regularly then I wouldn't worry.

She is a little cutie too!

Fresh tap water smells more than if it is left to stand for a while.

To keep her interested in her food make sure you pick it up once she has walked away. Food left lying around becomes boring. If she is leaving her food a lot then cut down the number of meals she has so that she is hungry by the next meal time. It is sooo easy to make them fussy by over feeding them.

All About Dog Food is a very informative website about dog food.
